Their parent company, Goom Radio, expanded last year from France into the United States, where its popular online music stations — easily customized and carried on mobile devices — are already heard by some two million listeners, according to company founders.

The immediate argument for “Ham Radio” is: Hasn’t this been done before? By Howard Stern, by Opie and Anthony, and plenty of other radio personalities who are willing to exploit every one from strippers and little people to prostitutes and homeless men for cheap laughs?
