Manhattan Massage Parlors: Police tie 2005 Bethel home invasion, rape to violent NYC gang

According to several online sources and news stories, Born To Kill was founded by a Vietnamese refugee who came to the U.S. in 1975 and worked as an enforcer for a Chinese street gang, the Flying Dragons, before breaking away and starting his own gang 13 years later.
By the early 1990s Born To Kill, which took its name from a phrase American soldiers had on their helmets during the Vietnam War, was comprised mainly of young Vietnamese men and immigrants from other Southeast Asian countries.
Their illegal activities diminished after 1992, but chapters remain active in New York City and Philadelphia, Bethel police were told by investigators from the NYPD, according to Vu’s arrest warrant affidavit.
“They are supposed to be among the most violent gangs in the city,” Wright said Tuesday.
In a Chinatown massage parlor robbery in 1989, a Born to Kill member shot a customer in the head. A year earlier, the gang killed two members of the Flying Dragons in a turf war, according to The New York Times.
