Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Pediatrician convicted of drug, sex crimes, begins serving 13-year sentence

HAMILTON — Dr. R. Scott Blankenburg turned himself into the sheriff’s office today Feb. 15, at about 7:40 a.m. to be transported to prison. The pediatrician, who practiced on Nilles Road in Fairfield, will serve 13 years behind bars for drug and sex crimes involving minors.
The 54-year-old doctor puffed on a cigarette and hugged family members as he walked in heavy snowfall from the parking lot on Hanover Street to the jail’s lobby. He clutched prescription bottles and a large envelope. At his side was one was his defense attorneys, Jack Garretson.
After Scott Blankenburg was taken to the jail area, Garretson talked with family members. He said they had no comment and all declined an opportunity to speak.
Last month, Scott Blankenburg pleaded guilty to compelling prostitution, two counts of bribery, pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor, illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material, two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and complicity to deception to obtain a dangerous drug. One of the charges involved a former patient.
