Bass, 57, who was maintaining a Rochester, N.Y. address at the time of the murder, is accused of killing 19-year-old Jessica Star Shabazz after hours of smoking crack and drinking inside the motel room with the drug-addicted prostitute and another woman, Antoinella Monique Johnson, both of Asbury Park. The evening started with Bass and Johnson meeting up to buy drugs and booze before stopping off at a dollar store to buy lingerie for both of them to wear once they got to his room at the Crystal Inn on Route 35 in Neptune.
