Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Cuomo Raised More Than $16 Million for NY Race, Person Says

The fundraising information, disclosed before the state Board of Elections deadline yesterday, covers the past six months, a period in which Paterson has struggled with the Legislature over the state budget and received voter approval ratings of 40 percent or less. A Dec. 15 Quinnipiac University poll showed Cuomo’s approval rating at 74 percent.
Lazio’s Funds
Republican Rick Lazio, a former U.S. congressman from Long Island, said yesterday in a text message to supporters that he has raised $1.4 million since declaring his gubernatorial candidacy in September.
Paterson, 55, a former Senate minority leader, was lieutenant governor and became the state’s chief executive in March 2008 when former Governor Eliot Spitzer resigned amid a prostitution scandal. Paterson’s father, Basil, is a labor lawyer and founder of the Harlem-based political organization that elected U.S. Representative Charles Rangel and former New York City Mayor David Dinkins.
