Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Criminal Defendants, Surrender Yourselves at Brooklyn Church

However, St. Paul Community Baptist Churchâs Communication Director Monica Britton said that other criminal defendants charged with higher level crimes âœwill not be turned away.â In fact, the churchâs press release stated that âœProject Safe Surrender provides an onsite judge and a defense attorney to consult with defendants with non-violent felony or misdemeanor charges.â
Judge Kamins, however, said that those with more serious charges beyond summonses will not be placed in the courtroom. Those who do not have letters regarding their outstanding warrants for summonses will be immediately redirected to speak with a defense attorney, who will advise them on how to proceed with their case on a future date at Brooklyn Criminal Court.
Britton said that some low-level criminals such as drug offenders or perhaps prostitutes with outstanding warrants will also likely attend the event in hopes of finding resolution for their criminal cases.
