… When his wife was hired for RHONJ, the Gorgas decided to abandon their home and move in to give themselves an appearance of wealth that they don’t really have,” the insider added. “Now, the interest-free period on the loan has expired, so they have to move.”
Melissa, who is a singer, was once faced with speculation that she is a former stripper during one episode of “RHONJ.”
“As everyone knows we are filming season 4 so there is not too much I can confirm, but there is one thing that I would like to clarify…the accusation that I was once a dancer at a strip club. This is 100% NOT TRUE. I did bartend for a few weeks at a bikini bar while I was in college. My outfit was a tank top, shorts and sneakers. SORRY, no bubbies there,” Gorga wrote on her blog page.

Former New England Mafia boss Luigi “Baby Shacks” Manocchio was sentenced Friday to 5 1/2 years in prison for his role in the shakedown of Providence, R.I., strip clubs. AP takes a look at some of the more notable nicknames associated with the mob and tries to shed light on their sometimes murky origins:
— Vincent “Vinny Gorgeous” Basciano, former acting boss of the Bonanno crime family, owned a beauty salon in the Bronx called “Hello Gorgeous” and was known for being obsessed with his personal appearance; serving life on racketeering and murder charges.
—Anthony “Tony Bagels” Cavezza, an accused Gambino family mobster known for his affection for New York bagels. He was indicted in Jan. 2011 as part of a sweep in New York, New Jersey and Rhode Island and awaits trial on charges including running an illegal gambling business scheduled later this month; has pleaded not guilty.

In the episode, he also performed a duet of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know” with his on-screen brother. Gotye later criticized the show’s arrangement of his hit song, but Bomer stands by “Glee’s” version, saying, “Art is completely subjective, so everybody is allowed their viewpoints on whatever you do. I was really proud of the arrangement … and I’m a fan of Gotye as well.”
There’s no rest for the weary. In addition to his TV schedule, Bomer also co-stars as a stripper in “Magic Mike,” which opens June 29. The role intimidated him, and that’s one of the reasons he took it: “Nothing can really prepare you for walking out in front of a group of a hundred screaming women and taking your clothes off and working your stuff to try to make a little money,” he says of his revealing role, “so all the stage experience in the world can only help so much.” Nevertheless, he says, “I had the time of my life.”

With his debut tomorrow night as a judge on “America’s Got Talent,” Howard Stern — a man most people associate with strippers, porn stars and a rogue’s gallery of freaks and misfits — is making the riskiest move of his career.
He’s working to win the love of mainstream America.
“I want to do a good job for NBC,” Stern said at a press conference last week. “ ‘AGT’ is a family show, and I don’t want to alienate their audience.”
He had walked into the room to audio of “Hail to the Chief,” laughing softly, and this is a miniaturized version of his comic sensibility. Acknowledging his own narcissism while ironically undercutting the pomposity of the event itself — 50 media outlets crammed into a tiny, overheated pocket at the Friars Club to hear Stern talk about his new gig as a reality-show judge.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The former New England Mafia boss was sentenced Friday to 5 1/2 years in prison for his role in the shakedown of Providence strip clubs, becoming the first ex-mob leader to be locked up in a case that has ensnared nine people described by prosecutors as having ties to organized crime.
…
Manocchio’s role in the extortion plot went back to the 1990s and netted $800,000 to $1.5 million in ill-gotten gains through protection payments paid by strip clubs, including the Satin Doll and Cadillac Lounge, according to prosecutors. Manocchio acknowledged at sentencing that his conduct was “unlawful,” but he maintained he did not personally threaten anyone.
…
Prosecutors said whether Manocchio explicitly threatened anyone “is beside the point.” Assistant U.S. Attorney William J. Ferland said that after a strip club owner reduced his payment to the mob, Manocchio visited him and informed the owner he needed to pay $4,000 a month.

Stripper’s Facebook Messages Aren’t All Protected, Judge Says
By Stewart Bishop
Law360, New York (May 11, 2012, 2:12 PM ET) — A federal judge on Thursday ruled that Facebook messages exchanged between nonparty exotic dancers and a member of a putative class of dancers suing the Penthouse Executive Club in New York for employment violations are not protected communications and must be produced for the suit.
U.S. District Judge Kimba M. Wood in New York held that the Facebook messages traded between a member of the proposed class and other nonparty dancers talking about joining the suit, are not protected by attorney-client privilege.
“Because these communications are…

We are well trained, but it’s early in the race. We are steadily building momentum. And that’s how we’re going to cross the finish line.” [NY Post]
