Milligan was born an Army brat in Minnesota in 1929. His father was a mild-mannered Army captain and his mother was an abusive alcoholic who eventually had a nervous breakdown. Molestation was rampant in the Milligan house. Andy himself allegedly molested a female relative, as did his father. As an adult, Andy’s half-brother was convicted pedophile, and though he never outright claimed this, it is believed Andy and his mother were involved in an incestuous relationship. After a four-year stint in the Navy he “settled down” in New York. Though he was married briefly to a female stripper, Andy was an unabashed homosexual and is alleged to have spent his wedding night partying in the gay bathhouses. It is a wonder his marriage lasted almost a year. Performance and the arts had been in Andy’s blood since childhood, but his mother considered them “sissy” pursuits. His first showbiz gig was as a puppeteer in a traveling show. After that, he opened a dress shop, selling his own designs, and worked as an actor. He was deeply involved in avant-garde theater in Greenwich Village before settling into film.

Shoot to Ted and Barney at the strip club as Ted is telling Barney how he can’t even walk into Robin’s room. “Why do I have to be so sensitive?” he asks Barney. Barney replies, “I don’t knoe bro. Look at me and this Quinn chick. You don’t hear me prattling on about how beautiful her smile is or how her hair is like a waterfall of honey-colored silk or how her eyes are like the warm South Sea kissed by the fire and gold of sunrise. I don’t even remember what she looks like.” Ted then comments on how Barney likes Quinn to which Barney asks him, “How did I become this gooey romantic?” Ted tells him that he thinks its “healthy that you have real feelings for a woman rather than seeing her as just an object.” Barney then snaps his fingers and a stripper comes over. Ted then asks Barney why he likes Quinn since he spent a whole night talking to her and she was basically rude to him the whole night …

Life Settlement’s PR Savior
I was running late last Wednesday morning as I hurried down 44
street in Manhattan. While I jostled past the tourists walking out of their hotels, fastening their fanny-packs and securing their cameras, I wondered to myself why on Earth anyone would want to stay in this section of the city; a kaleidoscope of theatres, strip clubs and chain restaurants where a $16 cheeseburger is “today’s special” every day of the week. But as I got farther East, towards 5
Avenue, tidy neo-Georgian brick buildings emerged and began to line the streets.
The neighborhood, a long-time the home of many of New York’s more prestigious clubs, seemed to arise out of nowhere and I found myself at the front door of the vaunted Harvard Club.
I was there to attend the Life Insurance Settlement Association’s (LISA) 2nd Annual Institutional Investor Conference. It struck me as mildly incongruous that a conference based on such a relatively new financial instrument would be held in such …

17. Washington Capitals (67 points) – For all their struggles and injuries, the Caps are one point out of the playoffs right now. In addition, the Jets gave away Johnny Oduya to the Blackhawks for picks. It appears nobody wants to make the playoffs, which means the Caps could accidentally find their way to the 8th spot.
18. Anaheim Ducks (62 points) – The Ducks still have a long way to go, but the pieces are in place for a remarkable stretch run. Jonas Hiller is hot and the offense is scoring again.
19. LA Kings (68 points) – The Kings made a big splash by acquiring Jeff Carter at the deadline, but I humbly think they overpaid. When things go south in LA, there won’t be enough strip clubs and starlets to contain the duo of Mike Richards and Jeff Carter, after rumors of partying and a commitment to drinking ran the tandem from Philly.

In the middle of Oscar season, I am like a baseball fan at a cricket match. Some of what’s happening looks vaguely familiar to me, but I couldn’t begin to tell you what the score is, or what all the cheering is about. I’ve seen exactly one movie in a theater in the past five years, and that was only because a friend dragged me. The last movie that was meaningful to me was “Hustle and Flow,” and that had as much to do with the music as it did with the story. If you haven’t seen it, “Hustle and Flow” was a fable (all the movies I’ve ever liked are fables) about Southern g-rap, and it successfully dramatized all of the metaphors that make the style so gripping. There were drug dealers and pimps, strip clubs and old model sedans, God and church music, and desperate people on the grind; plus, as one character says to another, “heavy percussion, repetitive hooks, sexually suggestive lyrics, man, it’s all blues, brother.”

A Medford man has been charged with grand larceny after the Nassau County District Attorney’s office said he stole more than $240,000 from a Woodbury healthcare company.
Jeffrey Mohamed, 36, was arrested Monday morning and charged with second-degree grand larceny and first-degree falsifying business records. He faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice said that from January 2003 to March 2011, Mohamed, who was employed as the chief of information technology for the Hospice Care Network, embezzled more than $243,000 from his employer.
He made unauthorized purchases of computers, televisions, and other electronic equipment through his employer’s accounts, and then returning the items for a credit to his personal account or by selling the equipment and keeping the proceeds, she said.

… It’s always distressful when someone loses their life, especially when it happens in Bloomfield,” he said. “I think it’s just a random act. At the end of the day, the perpetrator will be taken into custody. I’m sure of that.”
McCarthy said he considers the neighborhood safe, noting routine police patrols and video cameras at Felton Field.
“I never heard of people come up and say ‘Hey we have a lot of crime there,’” he said. “We’re kind of an urban city, and sometimes crime overflows there. The police are on top of it. We’re working to protect our people.”
Rossi’s murder is the first homicide in Bloomfield since 2009. The latter involved a shooting outside of Heartbreakers Gentlemen’s Club, followed by a car chase, authorities said. The passenger in the fleeing car was killed after striking another vehicle, and the driver of the fleeing car was charged with death by automobile, said Bloomfield Police Sgt. Anthony Servidio.
