Manhattan Strip Clubs: 5 Ways Jack Could Stay on Revenge If the Show Relocates to New York City

We suggest that he apply to a private school next to The Met in NYC, get adopted by a family named the van der Woodsens, and live the rest of his life as recovering drug addict. Oh, and sorry Charlotte — Declan’s gay now.
If all goes according to plan, Jack will visit his little bro a few times a month, giving him plenty of opportunity to bond with Emily Thorne and her bad self. 5. Amanda Gets a Job at NYC’s Finest Strip Club, Jack Follows Her!
Ever heard of Cheetah’s? Let’s hope not, because otherwise things just got awkward. Cheetah’s is New York City’s premier strip club — which doubles as a gourmet sushi restaurant! We have no doubt that Amanda could get a job there with that Piper Perabo table dancing routine of hers, and Jack would surely spend most evenings sticking benjamins in her bra.

Authorities say Charles Dingle will have a videoconference hearing Wednesday from Wende Correctional Facility in western New York.
He was convicted of shooting Queens bar owner Herbert Cummings, taking four women hostage, raping one and ordering another to cut off Cummings’ head to get rid of the bullet as evidence. He then fled with two hostages and the head.
Dingle is serving 25 years to life in prison for murder, robbery, rape and kidnapping. He has been denied parole before.

Manhattan Strip Clubs: Spike Lee takes Sundance by storm with “Red Hook Summer”

… Lay the Favorite” got the coveted Saturday-night centerpiece screening at Sundance this year, a slot meant to showcase a potential box-office hit. If I were any good at forecasting such things I’d have a different job, but at least this movie fits the bill better than the utterly risible “Red Lights,” a hokum-filled supernatural thriller with Robert De Niro, Cillian Murphy and Sigourney Weaver that premiered Friday. Neither movie takes place in anything resembling the real world, but at least Frears doesn’t leave talented actors rattling around with no idea what to do. Indeed, he clearly instructed Hall to shed all inhibition and go for it in her portrayal of Beth Raymer, a real-life Florida stripper turned professional gambler who wrote the memoir on which D.V. DeVincentis’ screenplay is based. (Raymer herself appeared at the post-screening Q&A, and it appears that Hall’s performance is underplayed, if anything.)

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: The Woman Who Shelters New York City’s Trafficking Victims

concluding a speech focused on the Middle East with a discussion of human trafficking, which he called a “modern-day form of slavery.” Four months later, The New York Times Magazine ran an 8,500-word cover story on sex trafficking in America that launched thousands of shocked conversations.
Speaking to me recently, Huckel recalled the typical reaction to the report: “What? This is happening here? No. Come on. That’s crazy.” But, for her, she said, curiosity became an “obsession.”
During previous social work in Philadelphia, Huckel, 33, had already seen the connection between poverty and commercial sex. “No one wakes up as a little girl one day and says, ‘I think I’m going to be a prostitute. That’s a great career for myself,’ ” she said. “Because of poverty, of gender oppression, of life situations and circumstances of being coerced, oftentimes forced, you are then forced into prostitution.”

Manhattan Strip Clubs: Topless-bar killer asks for early release

Topless-bar killer asks for early release
Published: Jan. 23, 2012 at 10:17 AM
NEW YORK, Jan. 23 (UPI) — A New York City killer who inspired the headline “Headless Body in Topless Bar” will petition for early release, officials say.
Charles Dingle, 53, is known for his violent spree of April 13, 1983.
Prosecutors described it like this:
High on cocaine, Dingle went into a Jamaica, N.Y., topless bar and shot owner Herbert Cummings, 51, in the head.
He then took four women hostage, one of whom he raped.
While going through their belongings, he found that one of them was a mortician. He forced her to remove the bullet from Cummings’ head so police would not be able to connect his gun to the murder. After she removed the bullet, he then ordered her to carve off Cummings’ head with a steak knife.

Manhattan Strip Clubs: ‘Headless body in topless bar’ killer wants out of prison

… Headless body in topless bar‘ killer wants out of prison
Charles Dingle committed one of New York’s most horrific crimes — a crime that inspired one of the city’s most famous tabloid newspaper headlines: ”Headless Body in Topless Bar.”
And now, three decades later, Dingle is continuing a mostly futile battle to be released from prison.
In 1983, Dingle, then 23, went on a murderous rampage in a Queens topless bar — first killing the bartender, Herbert Cummings, 51.
After gunning down Cummings, Dingle took four hostages. He raped one of them, a topless dancer, and robbed the others. While going through the pocketbook of one of his female hostages, he noticed that she was a mortician. He forced her to dig the bullet out of Cummings’ skull so his gun couldn’t be linked to the shooting.
