Manhattan Massage Parlors: With zoning changes in Cranford some businesses get fast track, others get red …

The discussion over the change began in May when Zoning Officer Robert Hudak suggested that a change in language of the zoning code regarding “personal services”. Hudak said at the time that some of the uses included in the ordinance — such as tattoo parlors, massage parlors, and steam baths — could lead to circumstances in which the township would be unable to easily differentiate between legitimate businesses and businesses that offered illegal services. Speaking about requests received by his office, Hudak said some businesses that could harbor illegal activity had contacted the zoning office for information.

While the exclusion of massage parlors from the list eases some differing opinions on the Township Committee, the governing body agreed to the language of the ordinance stating that excluding massage would prevent legitimate business — such as massage therapists, chiropractors, and salons that offer spa services — from operating with in Cranford.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Follow the Money II: Could Mayor Bloomberg’s Media Business Interests in the …

Court records from several states other than New York indicate that Sharif El-Gamal has had more than his share of run-ins with the law over other legal issues.
Court records  from Florida to New York state reveal that Sharif and his younger brother, Samir “Sammy” El-Gamal, 35, a partner with him in his company SoHo Properties, both have a history replete with intersections with tax and debt issues, dating back to at least 1994 and continuing into this year. Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Almost 700 suspected ‘tourist workers’ barred from leaving RP

The DMIA, also called the Clark International Airport, is located at the Clark Freeport Zone in Angeles City, Pampanga. Clark was a former United States military base that now houses a golf resort, industrial buildings, and retail establishments.
The BI tightened its monitoring and screening procedures at the DMIA after receiving reports that Clark was being used as a base of operations by human traffickers and illegal recruiters.
Lawyer Carlos Capulong, BI-DMIA head supervisor, said the 672 passengers were “offloaded” or not allowed to travel between August 1 to 31 as they attempted to leave with dubious travel documents.
Compared with the number of passengers who left the country via DMIA, the 672 passengers represent roughly 6.8 percent of the 9,938 travelers who were allowed to take overseas flights at the DMIA.
Citing earlier reports, Capulong said the undocumented overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who leave via Clark were usually bound for Malaysia, where many reportedly end up working as household helpers and others as prostitutes.
