Manhattan Adult Entertainment: COLUMN: The Last of the Mohegans — Casinos

Liberal yuppies always seek wisdom from Native American traditions as it is presumes that any other culture is wiser, deeper and more spiritual than their own, especially if it is oddly mystic. They also know any hint of Native American blood in them can get them into Harvard with an 850 SAT score.
Government, fond of patting itself on the back for social justice for being the moral authority, likes to wet their beak in all aspects of vice. New York now taxes cigarettes at $11 a pack (not including the feds’ take). They rake in an inordinate amount of alcohol sales, run the numbers in the form of state lotteries, and probably only have a “war on drugs” because they cannot figure a way to muscle a cut of that underground business. Government lost money in prostitution too when they took the Mustang Ranch. Only our government could lose money selling hookers and booze with a zero cost basis.

A Brooklyn man was sentenced Friday to 13 years in prison for transporting a teenage girl across state lines for prostitution.
Authorities say Marc Brickhouse was a pimp who held the girl against her will for three months and prostituted her for sex in hotels in Virginia, Maryland and New York.
In February, the girl ran away from a hotel and called police from a Babies R Us store.
Brickhouse pleaded guilty in May in U.S. District Court in Alexandria. He must also serve five years of supervised release.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Irvington neighborhood has hope for revival

Brand New Day officials said the initiative, paid for through an $85,000 planning grant from the Wachovia Regional Foundation, will engage residents, business owners and other community stakeholders in the revitalization of the neighborhood along the 21st Street corridor long beset by crime, foreclosures and arson.
The neighborhood, just north of Springfield Avenue on Newark’s border, has been shedding its notoriety over the last few months, though.
Doris Pilgrim, who with her husband moved to a home on 22nd Street from Brooklyn four years ago, said the neighborhood has been transformed.
“It was like being in a Third World war zone,” Pilgrim said. “I have seen a marked improvement.”
She said that illegal activities, such as prostitution and drug dealing have decreased markedly, street lights are operating and garbage is getting picked up.

Manhattan Strip Clubs: Rumor: has Chris Paul to NY Knicks been in the works for weeks?

HoopsVibe’s Very Quick Call: No doubt about it, Chris Paul to the New York Knicks has been in the works for weeks.
After all, Paul and the New Orleans Hornets couldn’t possibly last. Not in today’s polarized NBA, where a few big spenders dominate and the rest of the league gets the table scraps.
New Orleans as a market can’t generate enough revenue to provide Paul with a supporting cast. And New Orleans’ owner, George Shinn, either lacks the pockets or will to personally pay for talent.
So it wasn’t a if, but a when. When would the point guard tire of small market New Orleans and demand a trade to a major market.
Enter the Knicks.
New York is the media capital of the world. They play in historic Madison Square Gardens. Owner James Dolan has no issue throwing money around like a multi-platinum rapper at the strip club.

Manhattan Strip Clubs: City Island

If you’ve ever looked at your nearest and dearest and thought they’re a bit wacky, then you’ve obviously never met a family quite like the Rizzos. Shot in the picturesque fishing setting of City Island, New York, this indie film explores the intricate relationships of a dangerously secretive Bronx family.
When correctional officer (and closet aspiring actor) Vince Rizzo (Garcia) discovers his long lost son (Strait) locked up in the facility where he works, he resolves to make up for years lost and bails him out. However, with a daughter (García-Lorido) who has unbeknownst to her parents landed a gig as a part-time stripper, a younger son (Miller) looking for love with older women online and a dejected wife (Margulies) who believes her husband is cheating on her, it’s hardy the best environment to bring your secret ex-con love child into. So how long will it take for the dysfunctional family’s web of lies to fall apart?

Manhattan Strip Clubs: Charlie Rangel Charged With Numerous Ethics Violations, Among Them Offshore …

In the latest black eye to the democrats’ midterm election chances, Charlie Rangle, the former chairman of the ways and means committee was charged with a plethora of ethics violations, confirming yet again that the phrase “honest politician” is just as oxymoronic as “Non-stripper-abusing Wall Street CEO.” And while we will leave the politics aside, one of the charges is particularly interesting as it ties in closely with the recently popular topic of offshore drilling. Specifically, one of the allegations against Rangel is that he was guilty of: “Preservation of a tax shelter for an oil drilling company, Nabors Industries, which has a chief executive who donated money to the center while Rangel’s committee considered the loophole legislation.” It appears offshore drilling is not just a republican provenance. If NBR is about to be exposed for a kickback scheme with one of the (allegedly) most “ethically violated” politicians, one wonders just what a detailed investigation into any very probable comparable corruption schemes by BP, DO, HAL, APC and others would reveal and just how far the trail of Corexit-laden corruption would lead.

Gifted with musical talent as a writer and performer, Gaga’s  journey on her rise to fame included open mike nights and bookings as a go go dancer in a strip club and a bikini clad pianist.
