Manhattan Strip Clubs: You did WHAT on tequila?!

… I will share with you the story of my trip to Guadalajara to visit the Jose Cuervo distillery, which was at the time my client. I was with both partners of the company I work for, as well as my client. The evening started off harmless, a delicious dinner, a few rounds of tequila, yummy dessert, a few more rounds of tequila. After a quick stop at a local bar for, you guessed it, another round of tequila, we arrived at a karaoke joint where we proceeded to partake in tequila luges—the gross act of pouring tequila down folded bar menus and into the recipient’s mouth. The next thing I know, we’re at a strip club with my bosses—and my client! Where did this night go wrong? I wound up sleeping on a lounge chair next to the hotel pool. Needless to say, I don’t think there will ever be another business trip like that one!” —Nicole R.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: UN meet to examine Tanzania’s HIV Act

The law will allow for a common stance on HIV/Aids, which aims to be non-discriminatory. Currently some countries in the region criminalise the treatment of HIV-positive sex workers and gay men.
It is expected that the proposed law will take on the good parts of the existing laws in the region but also tackle some of the silent issues and make better the areas that are controversial.
For example, Kenya and Tanzania have laws providing for the free treatment and counselling for HIV-positive people.
But one of the controversial areas is the criminalisation of the transmission of HIV/Aids which was included in a law in Uganda.
Another controversial area is that in the Penal Codes of Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania prostitutes and gay men, who are considered high risk in HIV/Aids transmission, are not allowed access to treatment.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Poor have most HIV

The report, which the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention presented yesterday, suggests that HIV is epidemic in certain poverty-stricken urban neighborhoods. More significantly, poor heterosexuals in those neighborhoods were twice as likely to be infected as heterosexuals who lived in the same community but had more money.
Federal scientists found there were no significant differences in infection rates between blacks, whites or Hispanics.
The state doesn’t track income levels of the estimated 35,000 North Carolinians infected with HIV. But Dr. Tim Monroe, the director of the Forsyth County Department of Public Health, said health officials have long known about the link between poverty and health among the 11,000 people infected with HIV in Forsyth County.
“The reality is that HIV infection is associated with multiple sex partners, IV drug use and prostitution. And these are behaviors putting people at risk, and they are associated with poverty,” he said. “People who aren’t in poverty don’t end up in prostitution.”

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Arts: ‘Mormon American Princess’

I ask Fales how he thinks “Missionary Position” will be received; he says it depends on how far the show goes, and if it continues to be performed. He says haltingly: “This could sever my relationships with most of my family, this could hurt my children, but that’s just my fear. What I’m really doing is standing up for my rights and saying ‘I call bullshit’ and that God is bigger than the Mormon Church. I still believe in God. I know something got me out of prostitution, I know something is helping me not do crystal meth today, I know something is helping me be a better father.” The third show in the “Mormon Boy” trilogy, which is still in development, is an exploration of fatherhood called “Who’s Your Daddy?” Fales calls this his most personal work yet. His aim is to have the trilogy play off-Broadway together, in repertory with all three performed on Saturdays.
