In a move to make it so he never gets a job again, Mel Gibson’s ex has released tapes of Gibson making racist remarks against Hispanics, in addition to tapes leaked earlier of him hitting her and asking for her to be raped. Class act, that Mel Gibson.
Will Dwight be the new Michael Scott? Mindy Kaling, co-executive producer, writer, and co-star, was quoted saying that Rainn Wilson would be her first choice to take over Steve Carrel’s position when he leaves “The Office” in 2011.
Kendra Wilkinson is taking her act from the small screen to the bookstore. She is releasing a memoir entitled “Sliding Into Home” that details her life in the Playboy mansion. The story centers on the relationship between Mrs Warren, a prostitute, described by Shaw as “on the whole, a genial and fairly presentable old blackguard of a woman,” and her “prudish” daughter, Vivie.[1] Mrs Warren is a middle-aged woman whose Cambridge-educated daughter, Vivie, is horrified to discover that her mother’s fortune was made managing high-class brothels. The two strong women make a brief reconciliation when Mrs Warren explains her impoverished youth, which originally led her into prostitution. Vivie forgives her mother until learning that the highly profitable business remains in operation.
Shaw said he wrote the play “to draw attention to the truth that prostitution is caused, not by female depravity and male licentiousness, but simply by underpaying, undervaluing, and overworking women so shamefully that the poorest of them are forced to resort to prostitution to keep body and soul together.”

“A Night at the Tombs,” a solo show by the transgender performer Bianca Leigh about the time she spent a night in the Manhattan Detention Complex, sounds as if it ought to be spunky or scandalous. But not uncommon in transgender theater it turns out to be largely tease, because nothing much happened during that night of incarceration.
Miss Leigh uses the occasion of her arrest she was accused of prostitution, she says to reflect on her life, including the predictable feelings of not fitting in as a child and the eventual escape to New York from New Jersey. She was, she relates, determined to be a Shakespearean actress. “There was just one thing in my way: my penis,” she says, adding, deadpan, “ironically, an asset in Shakespeare’s day.”

Back in May, former Giants star Lawrence Taylor was accused of raping a 16-year-old girl, which gave way to a bizarre series of excuses and defenses, and left Taylor’s reputation in shambles. But yesterday, as Taylor plead not guilty to the rape charge in a Rockland County court, he did his best to make hot dogs out of mystery meat, throwing a series of quippy one-liners at the court.
Taylor started the day soberly, staring down a reporter who asked for a comment: “No. Grow up.” But once inside, he loosened up quickly; Taylor was surprised at the amount of reporters in court, and commented, “It must be a slow news day.” Even as the charges were read against him, which include third-degree rape, patronizing a prostitute and endangering the welfare of a child, he turned aside to a friend and asked, “You’re not playing golf today, are you?” When a court reporter wheeled a pile of case files into the room, Taylor pointed at the cart, grinned, and said to his wife sitting beside him, “I hope that’s not all my case. Hell, I wasn’t even in town that long.”

Not so elsewhere, though. Sting is no stranger to lushness in his music, and some of these songs — like “Mad About You,” “Why Should I Cry for You?” and even, on some level, “Englishman in New York” — felt properly fulfilled here, with real symphonic instruments replacing their synthesizer proxies. “Russians,” in a plangent arrangement by Vince Mendoza and Mr. Mercurio, borrowed scraps from Prokofiev and Mussorgsky. And two of Sting’s more lustrous ballads, “Fields of Gold” and “When We Dance,” received a treatment worthy of a soundtrack to a Hallmark Channel original.
The more rhythmically assertive songs invited disorientation. “Roxanne,” a song addressed to a prostitute, unfolded here as a gilded swoon, complete with cello solo; it called to mind the Rodeo Drive boutique scene from “Pretty Woman.” Another early Police song, “Next to You,” came across as gawky Pops fare, while “She’s Too Good for Me,” originally a roadhouse shuffle, was winningly kinetic.

… I can’t actually talk about it at the moment,” Morgan told “Extra’s” Terri Seymour. “What I will say is that Larry King is one of my all-time idols.”
Morgan’s judging cohorts on “America’s Got Talent” think he’d be a perfect replacement for King. “He could fill his suspenders!” Howie Mandel exclaimed, while Sharon Osbourne added, “Oh my God, Piers could do it blindfolded!’
Seymour asked how Morgan, with his extensive journalistic background, might question current tabloid inhabitants like Mel Gibson, and he quickly replied, “Why, why, why, why, why, why are you such a racist, misogynist, homophobic ranting lunatic? Honestly, I never thought anyone could be as bad as Howie Mandel. Mel, good work! I think it’s all over.”
Lindsay Lohan? “When are you gonna grow up? You know, you’re not a teenager anymore.” And Tiger? “Tiger Woods, I bet you’re missing those strippers aren’t you?”

John Stamos took the stand Tuesday in a Michigan courtroom to testify in the extortion trial of a couple who threatened to air what they said were suggestive photos of him unless he paid them $680,000. Stamos said he met the woman, Allison Coss, six years ago in an adult nightclub in Orlando while he was “heartbroken” about his breakup with wife Rebecca Romijn. Coss, who was 17 when they met but told him she was older, was with a group he invited back to his hotel room, where he says they did some innocent “hanging out.” Stamos said he and Coss exchanged what he called “flirty” emails through the years, until she sent him emails last fall saying she was being hounded by a man who said he had compromising photos of Stamos with cocaine and strippers. “We didn’t take any bad pics. I’m too smart,” wrote back Stamos. Coss and Scott Sippola both face extortion charges.
