Defense lawyer Sarah Henderson made the allegation during opening arguments in the U.S. District Court trial of Allison Coss and Scott Sippola, even though the presiding judge last week ruled that testimony about whether the “ER” and “Full House” star had an intimate relationship with Coss would not be allowed. Opening statements are not testimony and cannot be considered by jurors as evidence but allow attorneys to outline the case they will present.
Stamos, who attended the trial’s opening day, declined comment to The Associated Press but is expected to testify.
His attorney, William Sobel, issued a statement through publicist Matt Polk that said: “The allegations made today in the courtroom by the defendants during opening statements will not be proven because they are simply untrue.”
Polk declined further comment.
Coss, 24, and Sippola, 31, both of Marquette, are accused of conspiring to extort $680,000 from Stamos by telling him they had photos of him with cocaine and strippers. Prosecutors contend the pictures don’t exist, and FBI agents testified Monday they found no such photos while searching the defendants’ house after their arrest.

I know it’s hard to fathom, but believe G.W. when he tells you that the tastiest piece of red meat he’s eaten all year was at a titty bar on West 28th Street in Manhattan. For weeks, good buddy Noel Ashman has been trying to cajole G.W. into having dinner at the legendary “Mammary Mecca” (as Richard Johnson prefers to call it) more commonly known as Scores. “Trust me,” he kept insisting, “the food is pretty incredible.” One recent Wednesday night, G.W. finally took him up on the offer. As we settled into a banquette in the cozy restaurant of this notorious strip club—rock music blaring and topless trollops shimmying on dance poles—we were treated to the most delicious, flawlessly prepared, humungous T-bone steak ever! Yes, a memo to majordomo food critic Sam Sifton: G.W. can declare unequivocally that he has found New York’s best steak.

A caesarian can damage stomach muscles in the long term and many women cannot return to exercise for several weeks.
But Kendra insists surgery didn’t hinder her in the gym.

So was Vitter – his acts were only discovered as a result of a law enforcement investigation into a prostitution service.
And Gonzales was also the target of all sorts of government investigations both prior and subsequent to his firing.
Monday, July 12, 2010 06:23 PM ET High Priests of Modernity The reason for this discrepancy should be crystal clear to everyone whose religion is not red, white, and blue: Gingrich, Gonzolas, et. al are self-anointed guardians of unapologetic “With-us-or-against-us” nationalism, i.e. acceptable, Serious, “main-stream” values. They are, therefore, good people whose character flaws are one-off anomalies justifiable in the long-run by their their virtuousness and love for the USA. Spitzer, on the other hand, is a pro-terrorist, self-hating American who asks the occasional uncomfortable question. Therefore, Spitzer’s character flaws “disgrace” him, whereas the flaws of the High Priests of Modernity only bolster their flag-waving resume. —al_shaytan_kbeere Read al_shaytan_kbeere’s other letters Permalink Flag

… If there are members of the American team who are successful, it could lead to a rejuvenation of the sport in this country,” said Nigel Collins, editor in chief of The Ring, the boxing industry’s leading magazine. A gold medal, he added, “gives you instant credibility.”
The chance to compete on a global sports stage has inspired up-and-coming female boxers throughout New York who are now focusing their training with the Olympics in mind. Others are delaying making the leap to professional boxing since a medal could mean a much more lucrative start to a professional career.
That is what Ms. Cruz is doing.
Aside from gold hoop earrings the size of doorknobs, Ms. Cruz, 27, considers herself a tomboy. She was raised by her father and her grandparents in Hell’s Kitchen when the neighborhood was saturated with drug dealers and prostitutes. Her mother dipped in and out of her life.

Playlist Nicolas Cage and Jay Baruchel of “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” Mon, 12 Jul 2010 17:45:58 The Sorcerer’s Apprentice stars Nicolas Cage chat with ARTISTdirect.com editor and Dolor author Rick Florino about what’s spinning on their iPods in this exclusive interview…
Playlist: Nicolas Cage and Jay Baruchel of “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”
“We were just talking about Guns N’ Roses,” exclaims Nicolas Cage, sitting next to his Sorcerer’s Apprentice co-star Jay Baruchel. “We’re huge fans! I think Axl’s one of the great writers of the last century; his piano playing is amazing and that song ‘Prostitute‘ is incredible!”
Nicolas Cage knows rock music inside and out, and he’s just as stoked to talk about it as he is to delve into The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
Baruchel also has a great grip on music with his own perspective that’s quite enlightened and diverse. They’re couldn’t be two cooler aural aficionados at the center of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, and that’s probably why it has such an action-packed rhythm.

When an FBI operative–posing to be a Russian agent–gave Anna Chapman a fake passport to pass it on to another “spy,” she chickened out and called her father, a former KGB senior official. He told her to give up, and she went to the NYPD, reports Gazeta.ru. Yuliya Latynina of Echo Moskvi Radio station said phrases that have been repeated around Moscow: “look at that Western media! They call her [Anna Chapman] a [James] Bond girl! Katya the Cow-Girl she is; without bra and panties… In her reports to the Russian intelligence she wrote ‘imagine, in America you can come into a café with a friend and meet an important businessman; unbelievable business opportunities!’ Sounds more like an opportunity for prostitution,” polished off Latynina. Other outlets have also commented that the U.S. initiated the scandal to get its own spies back home safe and soon.

The narrowed scoring window diminished the portion of the field a team such as New Zealand had to be defend. Even with somewhat of a revival in the knockout stages, the goals per game average for this tournament (2.27) was the second lowest of all-time. Only the notoriously turgid Italia 90 (2.21) was worse. Adidas’ Jabulani ball fundamentally altered the play at the 2010 World Cup, and not for the better.
Nike Stars (Losers): Fabio Cannavaro, Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, Franck Ribery and Didier Drogba demonstrably failed to “Write the Future.” Ronaldinho did not even make the World Cup Squad.
France (Losers): France hamstrung themselves heading into the tournament with Raymond Domenech still coaching. With optimism already low, their campaign took one of the worst possible turns. It was a comprehensive failure in leadership on every level. Domenech was a clown. The players strike was so off-putting they made him look sympathetic. The experience was terrible enough to make an underage prostitute scandal seem tame. The only bright spot is that Laurent Blanc will get the “blanc” page he needs to comprehensively rebuild.

Just two weeks ago, reporters met Aidala at a downtown Manhattan courthouse to discuss Taylor’s case during the trial of another man. Aidala has vigorously defended William Rapetti, who is accused of manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide in a crane accident that killed seven people. Reports from the courtroom describe Rapetti as despondent, looking down with his head in his hands as he listens to the arguments.
The Brooklyn-based attorney allows for no ambiguity when he addresses media about either client. He says they are innocent.
For Taylor, the stakes are high. He has already lost endorsements because of the charges and could face four years in prison if found guilty. Taylor was arrested at a Holiday Inn in Suffern, N.Y., after a night when a 16-year-old runaway was allegedly sent to his hotel room. According to the police, Taylor had arranged for a prostitute and paid the girl $300.

Wise Young Kids Just Don’t Approve of Hannah Montana’s Slutty Behavior
Kids, Miley is only Hannah Montana when she has the blond wig on — gosh, how many times do your parents have to explain? So, when she’s owning stripper poles, strutting her stuff in mesh everything, and dating older guys, she’s no longer Hannah Montana. Got it? Except, not only do they get it, the young and surprisingly sensible kids who spoke to the New York Times don’t approve of Miley’s horny adult-like behavior. “I don’t know what was going on in her head,” Perry Hamm, an 11-year-old from San Francisco said. “I feel like she acts 25. She looks so old. She is too old for herself.”
From the mouths of babes…
But could this be a new trend in which growing-up-too-fast kids finally put their little feet down and attempt to reclaim innocence lost? With shows like Toddlers & Tiaras, toys like Bratz, and role models like Miley and Vanessa, maybe rebellion means young kids acting good for a change and refusing to go along with the sexting, gyrating, barely clothed, slutty influences because, well, everybody’s doing it.
