The prosecution of Jin Hua Cui, 44, is the first time the county has prosecuted anyone under the 2007 felony sex trafficking…

A Taste Of Politics At The Gay Pride Parade
Some guys get all the luck, apparently. Here is famed Nixonian dirty trickster Roger Stone, former political director for fallen Ponzi schemer Scott Rothstein, getting licked at the New York Gay Pride parade by model Kat ForTra on Sunday.
Stone, who has a (partially self-made) reputation as a swinger, was out at the parade to drum up support for one of his candidates for New York governor, “Manhattan Madam” Kristin Davis, who supplied prostitutes to disgraced former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, who amazingly is resurrecting his career as a host for formerly respected news outlet CNN.
Good times, eh? But there is some real news to parlay, as well. First let’s get on to three people who are cooperating witnesses in the corruption investigation regarding the dirty developers Chait.

Jin Hua Cui (pictured), 44, forced at least seven Korean women that responded to nail salon help-wanted ads in a Korean newspaper into prostitution, D.A. Thomas Spota said.
Customers were solicited by Craigslist ads, officials say, and paid between $60 to $80 — sometimes more — for sex.
Surveillance pictures show the women were picked up from Queens and taken to the so-called massage parlors in Hicksville and Huntington Station.
“These women did not speak a word of English and most importantly they didn’t even know where they were,” Spota said.
Detectives seized $20,000 in cash, business records, passports and boxes of condoms from Cui’s Flushing home.

Queens Woman Charged With Sex Trafficking
Updated 2:46 PM EDT, Tue, Jun 29, 2010
Young women who answered ads in a Korean newspaper for nail salon attendants were roped into a sex trafficking scheme by a Queens woman, according to Suffolk County officials.
The woman, Jin Hua Cui of Flushing, is now being charged with sex trafficking, promoting prostitution, and conspiracy for coercing young Korean women into prostitution through intimidation and threat of violence, District Attorney Thomas Spota announced Tuesday.
“The victims were picked up daily in Flushing by the driver, co-defendant Sangyel Kuen of Flushing, and transported to massage parlors in Hicksville and Huntington Station,” said Spota.
Officials seized $20,000 in cash, business records, passports, and boxes of condoms from Cui’s home in Flushing. The 44-year-old’s co-defendant, Kuen, 53, pleaded guilty at his arraignment June 22 to promoting prostitution in the third degree.

The strength and depth of the free agent class was created by a decision made by three of the top five picks in the 2003 NBA . James, Bosh and Wade signed deals after their rookie contracts expired giving them the option to become free agents on Thursday. They wanted the opportunity to assess whether their current teams would be worthy of their continued presence.
Combine the availability of such talent with the rise of social and interactive media, including Youtube, and that’s been a perfect storm for a free-agent frenzy.
Dozens of websites have sprung up including pleasedontgodwyane.com; savedwade.com; sendlebrontochicago.com; lebrontothemavs.com.
Rodrigo Gimenez, a Heat fan from Kendall, launched boshtomiami.com “to showcase to fans and Bosh himself how much we would like him to join powers with Dwyane Wade and help take the Miami Heat to the next level.”
Los Angeles Clippers fans held a parade for James, who has been offered a lifetime of free lap dances at a New York strip club if he plays for the Knicks.

The star of HOW TO BE A BAD GIRL, Lisa Faith Phillips is a charismatic comedian and former stripper. She had a sold-out tour of her popular parody musical 7 ½ Habits of Highly Successful Mistresses in Dublin, Ireland, New York and at the Capital Fringe Festival in Washington D.C., before being sued for trademark infringement by the FranklinCovey Corporation, owners of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People trademark.
Drawing on her colorful experiences, working as a stripper to pay her way through graduate school at the London School of Economics, and her background in stand-up comedy and music, Lisa Faith Phillips weaves topical humor and songs into a clever, thought-provoking and ultimately touching show. Part comedy, part cabaret, part one-woman theater piece, it all adds up to an evening of sophisticated, fun entertainment.

The Twilight Saga returns with its second installment, New Moon. The series revolves around Bella (Kristen Stewart), the love interest of Edward (Robert Pattinson), sparkly vampire extraordinaire. (Seriously, he looks like a stripper sneezed on him.) Bella being decidedly non-vampiresque – that’s a word now – creates quite the conundrum for Edward. He’s desperately in love with her but the smell of Bella’s blood could send him into a feeding frenzy. Therefore he must constantly withhold his passion or risk killing her. As the film opens, Edward and his vampire family are forced to leave town as people are starting to realize that they’re not growing older. Contrary to what Dove Soap commercials would have us believe, being ageless apparently has its drawbacks.
Splitting up our lovers is problematic for the film in that the charisma-less Pattinson, for reasons which still baffle me, has become tween girls’ “It” boy. The girls love his meticulously crafted bed-head and his pale (is there an opposite of swarthy?) good l …

The G-8 was born out of the 1973 oil shock and the subsequent worldwide recession, and for years it operated like an Ivy League gentlemen’s club, with the U.S. as the ‘Iviest’ of those Ivies. Twenty-five years later, in 1999, the G-20 was created in the aftermath of the 1997 Asian financial crisis, and finally last September in Pittsburgh the G-20 largely overtook the G-8 in perceived importance and became, as the Obama administration now describes it, “the premier forum for international economic cooperation” among wealthy nations.
…
But the Great Recession of 2007 is like few other financial crises the world has ever known, and though many of us think the rumblings were clearly there when the G-20 met in Pittsburgh and became , the version of the G-20 that we just saw play out in Toronto is like no cooperative ‘gentlemen’s club‘. Rather, it’s more like an economic version of “musical chairs”, but with chairs missing all over the place before even the first chord of music is played, as there is surprisingly little common ground among the players except the sizes of their economies relative to the myriad other nations of the world.
