Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Uncovering the cover-up by the Catholic Church

God knows — and He does — Protestants shouldn’t be throwing stones at the Roman Catholic Church for the scandals involving the abuse of children by some priests. Protestants have a blemished history of how they have handled their own scandals involving extramarital sex, misappropriated funds and arrogant behavior.
The hall of shame in the last century includes Aimee Semple McPherson (an alleged affair with her radio engineer, Kenneth Ormiston), Garner Ted Armstrong ( Hustler magazine carried a story in September of 1978 called “In Bed with Garner Ted Armstrong — America’s Promiscuous Preacher,” which detailed gambling, adultery and the alleged rape of a young stewardess who worked on his private jet), Jim Bakker (sex with his secretary), Jimmy Swaggart (sex with a prostitute) and Ted Haggard (sex with a man), among too many others.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: The Only Homeless Person in Times Square

NYC nonprofits look for ways to help persuade the last homeless person in Times Square to accept permanent housing.
A few decades ago, Times Square was a symbol for the many problems New York City faced: drugs, prostitution, homelessness.
But in the past 20 years or so, sex shops have given way to family-friendly attractions, prostitutes have faded away in favor of tourists and most of the homeless have found homes.
In fact, every homeless person in Times Square has been successfully removed from the streets, save one.
Heavy — the only name he’s known to have — has lived amid the glitzy Broadway theaters, restaurants and shops for at least the past 20 years and has no intention of going anywhere, despite the best efforts of many.
“I just have this dream that all of a sudden something will snap, and he’ll say, I’d love to have housing,” said Amie Pospisil, an associate director at Common Ground, a community nonprofit that conducts street outreach, told The New York Times. “I don’t rule out that it could happen.”

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Profile Of Russian Billionaire, Mikhail Prokhorov (GLD)

In an embarrassing, but fortunate twist of fate, Prokhorov was arrested in France for running a ring of prostitutes in January of 2007. The magnate had flown with a group of friends, which included eight models, to an alpine resort about 125 miles outside of Lyon, France on a ski holiday. Prokhorov ended up spending four days in jail and garnered considerable notoriety in Russia as a result of his arrest. In hindsight, the whole thing appears to be a misunderstanding. Prokhorov, who makes no apologies for enjoying the company of beautiful young women, says his female companions were not prostitutes and that he never paid them. “It was just ‘lost in translation,’” Prokhorov says. “It was a total misunderstanding by the police.”

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Correction: Mikhail Prokhorov Is Your New Favorite Sports Billionaire

Those women even saved his fortune. Prokhorov got his start selling acid-washed jeans in the late ’80’s (seriously) and then worked his way up through financial circles until he and a partner “won” a rigged auction to buy a gigantic mining operation from the state. They turned it into a money-printing factory, until there was that incident in France when he was accused of flying prostitutes into the country to entertain his friends at a ski lodge. The “embarrassing” scandal forced Prokhorov to sell his interest in the company … about two months before the stock dropped 71%. He pocketed about $10 billion just as everyone else lost their shirts and then invested that money in a potential gold mine. Which turned out to be an actual gold mine, just before the price of precious metals went up 50%. He made out okay.

Manhattan Strip Clubs: Ex-Tiger mistress plans to be at Masters

James also told Fox News in an interview Monday that several people in Tiger’s inner circle knew that she was having sex with Woods.
She said she released text messages, e-mails and other proof of their three-year relationship on her Web site to “get the truth out there.”
James said it was “just false” that no one other than Woods knew about their steamy relationship.
When asked about Steve Williams, Woods’ caddy, who has claimed he knew nothing about the string of affairs, James replied, “He knew who I was. … There were a few people in his inner circle who knew who I was and the dynamic of our relationship.”
James also announced on her Web site that she will be pole dancing at the Pink Pony strip club in Atlanta while Woods competes at The Masters, about 150 miles away. She added that she plans to be the tournament as well.

Manhattan Strip Clubs: Jesse James Says He Was ‘Honest’ About Past in 2009 Interview

But that’s the word James used in an interview last year when talking to Howard Stern about all the exploits he enjoyed before he tied the knot with Bullock in 2005. In May 2009, he told the talk show host, “I’ve been 100% honest with her and up front about everything right from the get-go.”
He went on: “Some of the things I had to tell her at the beginning of our relationship, like, ‘Hey, I was with a porn star,’ like, ‘Hey, we’re having a kid…’ At several points I expected her just to turn around and run.
“It’s been really hard, but it’s a testament to what an amazing woman Sandy is.”
It doesn’t sound much like what we’ve come to believe of Jesse James in the past month, as a stripper and a tattoo artist both claim to have carried on long-term affairs with him while he was married to Bullock. The couple is currently living apart while the story unfolds, and James released a statement taking full responsibility for the embarrassment his family is suffering.

Manhattan Strip Clubs: R.I.P. June Havoc

The name of June Havoc, who passed away yesterday at age 97, might not ring a bell with most people, but if you mention the Vaudeville child performer Baby June in the 1959 Broadway musical Gypsy, that might jog their memories. Gypsy was, of course, based on the autobiography by acclaimed burlesque stripper and comedienne Gypsy Rose Lee who was Havoc’s older sister.
Ironically, Havoc despised the book and the stage adaptation because of its less than flattering portraits of their mother Rose Hovick and herself which led to a rift between the two sisters that wasn’t healed until 1970 when Lee was diagnosed with the cancer that eventually killed her. Gypsy was made into a horrendous 1962 film adaptation starring Rosalind Russell as Mama Rose, Natalie Wood in the title role and Karl Malden, none of whom could sing worth a lick and who all needed to be dubbed. (Bette Midler played Mama Rose in a vastly superior 1992 made-for-TV remake.)

Manhattan Strip Clubs: June Havoc, Gypsy’s Baby June no more

ACTRESS JUNE Havoc, who was immortalised in the role of Baby June in the musical Gypsy, passed away today in Connecticut. The actress who took to writing later, has died at the age of 97, at her Stamford home, according to her publicist, Shirley Herz.
June Havoc, who is the younger sister of famed stripper Gypsy Rose Lee, had been sucessful stage actress, performing from 1918 onwards. Born as June Hovick on November 8, 1912, June had started dancing in Vaudeville comedy shorts when she was just 18 months old. She had once said, “I earned $1,500 a week when I was 6 and I knew exactly how I got the laughs and applause.”
Her mother, Mama Rose, kept June on stage in Vaudeville till she was 13 years old and had lost the baby cuteness. June weary of the strict committment to the stage had run away then, marrying and having a daughter April Hyde Kent. Later, she married radio and TV producer William Spier in 1947.

Manhattan Strip Clubs: Sites Stir Rumors Jesse James Got Mistress #2 Pregnant

Scandalized hubby Jesse James apologized for alleged infidelities that threatened her family life. Also, only days after winning an Oscar, she found herself tied to news stories featuring Bombshell McGee, a woman with an affinity for Nazi regalia. Her husband’s porn star ex is fighting again for custody of six-year-old daughter Sunny. And clueless outlets reported that she “skipped” the Kids’ Choice Awards… when she’d never planned to go in the first place.
The site responsible for that last bit of misinformation, HollywoodLife.com, today decides to heap some more suffering onto Bullock, because, apparently, she hasn’t had enough.
“Could Jesse James Have Gotten Alleged Mistress #2 Melissa Smith Preggers?” shrieks the headline above a photo of stripper and onetime James paramour Smith exiting a store today, pregnancy test in hand. ”Could Jesse be the potential father if Melissa is pregnant? We hope not!”

Manhattan Strip Clubs: June Havoc Dies

June Havoc Dies
June Havoc, best known as the younger sister of stripper Gypsy Rose Lee, died Sunday of natural causes at her home in Stamford, Conn. She was believed to be 97.
The original 1959 stage production of Gypsy had music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by Arthur Laurents. Ethel Merman starred as the indefatigable mother of June Havoc (”Baby June”; later, “Dainty June”) and Gypsy Rose Lee, from the time Baby June was the family’s star to Gypsy’s rise to fame as an adult performer.
Directed by Mervyn LeRoy, the 1962 movie version starred Rosalind Russell as Mama Rose and Natalie Wood as the adult Gypsy. Morgan Brittany played Baby June and Ann Jillian was the older “Dainty June,” who runs off with a boy in the film, never to be seen or heard from again.
