Amid all the news of husband Jesse James’ alleged extramarital affair with a tatted stripper, Sandra Bullock is apparently staying out of the public eye and canceled her appearance at the Berlin premiere of her film, “The Blind Side.”
“Without Sandy, it just didn’t make any sense to have a premiere,” a studio source tells E! News.
Sources say that since the alleged affair with Michelle “Bombshell” McGee has come to light, Sandra has been in hiding. This is the second premiere that the Oscar-winning actress has pulled out from.
Sandra cancelled her trip to London’s “Blind Side” premiere last Wednesday citing ‘unforeseen personal reasons.” The studio source says they’re not sure when she’ll come out of hiding.
A week ago, Sandra moved out of her and Jesse’s L.A. home after Jesse’s reported mistress had come forth with shocking details of their affair. While Jesse hasn’t confirmed the alleged affair, he issued a public apology days later.

The past week must be terribly hard for America’s sweetheart, Sandra Bullock.
After learning a
bout an alleged affair between her husband, Jesse James and some tattooed stripper (can we stop saying her name?), Bullock has canceled her London premiere of her latest film, The Blindside, left the home that she shared with dog-house-bound-husband, and now she has called off her Berlin premiere appearance without being snapped by one photographer.
Unlike her first premiere call off, Bullock did not release any statement as to why she won’t be going – because the world knows – we all get it.
Many media sources and fans are hoping that Bullock pulls through with her head held high, and makes a statement soon.

But then a new Artistic Director and a group of fresh directors were brought in to revamp and revitalize the company. That they did. They have tackled musicals that most theater companies avoid (La Cage and The Full Monty), or added fresh new coats of artistry to the older titles.
Three years ago they managed only a couple of Column Award nominations, this past year they led in the non-equity field with a staggering 33 nominations, going on to take home the big prize, Best Play of the Year (non-equity). They were also voted Best Theater Group in North Texas on channel 8’s WFAA list. They have brought in radiant new talent as well into the mix. Again, that’s all in the span of a short three year period.
But it is how they challenge themselves as artists and as a theater company that I greatly admire. They tackle some really tough material.

As a satirist of social pretensions, Evelyn Waugh (1903-66) is something of a Thackeray step-child. A scalding wit etches deep in splendidly wrought works like Vile Bodies (1930), Black Mischief (1932), Scoop (1938) and The Loved One (1947). By contrast, his line drawings that accompany some of his early works are astonishingly simple, almost delicate. Here are a couple of illustrations from his first novel, Decline and Fall (1928), just before his conversion to Catholicism. On the right, the hapless hero, Paul Pennyfeather, more or less innocently expelled from college for indecent exposure, applies for a teaching job in Wales.
He takes up with a student’s very wealthy mother and, on the day they’re supposed to be married, is arrested while on an errand on her behalf (she, it turns out, operates a high-end prostitution ring), and gallantly takes the rap for her.

Buffeted by scandals and a steep drop in government and foundation money, the community-organizing group Acorn is discussed plans to declare bankruptcy, The New York Times reports, citing unidentified Acorn officials.
Pablo Eisenberg, a senor fellow at the Georgetown Public Policy Institute (and a frequent Chronicle contributor), told The Washington Post that Acorn leaders apprised him of plans to file for bankruptcy and form a new, renamed entity.
The move comes as a wave of state and local Acorn chapters have disbanded or severed ties with the national group, some reconstituting under new names. The national organization has been struggling under the weight of a 2008 embezzlement scandal and the fallout from guerrilla videos shot last year by conservative activists that appeared to show Acorn workers encouraging prostitution and tax evasion.
