WASHINGTON (AP) – Housing construction fell in February as winter blizzards held down activity in the Northeast and South. The decline highlighted the challenges facing builders as they struggle to emerge from the worst housing slump in decades. The Commerce Department said Tuesday that construction of new homes and apartments fell 5.9 percent in February to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 575,000 units, slightly higher than the 570,000 that economists were expecting. January activity was revised up to a pace of 622,000 units, the strongest showing in 14 months.

NEW YORK (AP) – New HIV infections are increasing among homosexuals, drug users and prostitutes who don’t seek help because of laws that criminalize these practices, the head of the U.N. AIDS agency said Monday. Michel Sidibe, the head of UNAIDS, said “it is unacceptable” that 85 countries still have laws criminalizing same sex relations among adults, including seven that impose the death penalty for homosexual practices.

R&B Singer D’Angelo Charged with Soliciting a Prostitute
R&B singer D’Angelo is quickly ruining his image. According to MTV News, the entertainer was arrested in New York on March 6 for trying to pick up an undercover cop posing as a prostitute.
D’Angelo’s manager Lindsay Guion issued the following statement. “We would like his fans and the public at large to know that D’Angelo has pled not guilty and is contesting the allegations made against him.”
The singer was arrested in Richmond, Virginia back in 2005 on charges of drunk driving and drug possession.
