Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Japanese Art Dealers Association to Hold Two Joint Exhibitions During New York …

Among the highly decorative screens in the exhibition is Pine and Plum Trees, a 17th century Kano school six-panel screen in the style of Kano Eitoku and Kano Sansetu. Japanese artists frequently illustrated the four seasons, and the pine and plum trees, with red nandia and bamboo, illustrating winter and spring. Similarly, a 17th century pair of six-panel screens, Roosters and Chicken in a Bamboo Grove presents fowl by a bamboo grove in spring and autumn.
Also in the exhibition is an unsigned hanging scroll by Katsushika Hokusai, Courtesan with Lanterns, which also bears a poem by Santō Kyōden. Best known for his iconic print, The Great Wave off Kanagawa, Hokusais Courtesan with Lanterns depicts a high-ranking courtesan dressed in full regalia as she poses confidently on the main street of the Yoshiwara, the pleasure quarters on the outskirts of the city of Edo.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Is it time for Super Hans and Sue Sylvester to have their own shows?

Great TV comes from triumph over adversity, so in Kenneth Hits The Streets, our hero loses his precious page position and so is forced to live rough on the inhospitable streets of New York City. Cast out among the crack fiends, prostitutes and hustlers who flock to the city’s streets, Kenneth does the only thing he knows how – he helps people. It’s like Midnight Cowboy in reverse in that it’s about a very tall, naive southern man who comes to New York and then tries to stop people taking drugs and having sex. In an intriguing bit of televisual cross-pollination, Kenneth is quickly befriended by Bubbles from The Wire. Actually, now that we think about it, he should have his own show too. Together, the pair set about bringing a little bit of Kenneth warmth to the cold, harsh Big Apple.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: New York attorney general Cuomo recuses himself from governor Paterson …

Attorney General Cuomo recused himself because of a conflict of interests that might arise should he personally handle the investigation. Cuomo is expected by many to announce his candidacy for the upcoming gubernatorial election this November. While this could have meant that he would be running against Paterson for the Democratic nomination, Paterson recently announced that he will seek a full term. Paterson became governor in 2008, when then-Governor Eliot Spitzer was caught in a prostitution scandal. Spitzer resigned shortly after the affairs became public; allowing Paterson, who was the lieutenant governor at the time, to take the post. Paterson had announced his candidacy for reelection before removing himself from it when the allegations of wrongdoing arose.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: The tragic price of human trafficking

… And by that simple, narrow, terrible definition, there are more slaves in the world today than at any point in human history. This is a crime that is more massive in growing numbers today than at any time in human history.”
The price society pays for allowing modern day slavery to thrive is primarily a moral price – the idea that the slavery of one person makes everybody less free, Skinner stressed at the annual symposium sponsored by the Southern California Partnership for Global Justice, a coalition of religious congregations and agencies.
He talked about a 17-year-old girl he met in South Africa while researching a recent story for Time Magazine. His assignment was to investigate the influx of human trafficking in the run-up to soccer’s World Cup championship this June. The journalist came across Sindiswa in a state-run hospice, where she lay dying of AIDS after being abandoned by her Nigerian trafficker when she was too sick to work as a street prostitute.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Benefits of Needle Exchange Programs Limited

There is the question of whether or not cities that started needle exchange programs had high HIV transmission rates and decided a needle exchange program was part of the solution. Comparing HIV transmission rates before and after these programs have been implemented may be another way to determine their effectiveness.
Another point that this study did not address is whether or not individuals who use IV drugs engage in other risky behaviors. If someone can inject themselves with drugs, I believe they may be likely to take other risks that could increase his or her chances of becoming infected. An HIV positive IV drug user who uses clean syringes and needles might not practice safer sex. An IV drugs user who supports his or her drug habit as a prostitute puts him or herself at risk of becoming infected with HIV. And an IV drug user who uses clean needles may have sex with other IV drug users who do not.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Weekend Box Office Predictions 3/12

Recent movies, such as last month’s Dear John, have proven that the teenage female base of moviegoers will come out in droves when they are interested in the subject matter. That could be the case with Remember Me which features Twilight star Robert Pattinson. There is also the added draw that the trailer for Eclipse will debut in front of the film, however the effect of that should be minimal given that it hit the internet yesterday. Reviews have been poor, with some absolutely hating the film, but that won’t matter to this demo. Remember Me should finish the weekend around $13 million.
The R rated comedy She’s Out of My League looks to follow on the success of other adult oriented comedies and features a cast of mostly unknowns. Early buzz was positive, with the studio screening it to get word of mouth going, but reviews have been mixed. Split opinion on a comedy of this nature though amongst reviewers is encouraging though. Direct competition is pretty much limited to Cop Out although Green Zone could steal some away from it also. Look for She’s Out of My League to pull in about $12 million.
