Manhattan Strip Clubs: Murdoch takes aim at New York Times

The New York Times, run by scion Arthur “Pinch” Sulzberger, Jr., doesn’t have deep pockets. Like most newspapers around the globe it’s been struggling for the past several years amid a slump in advertising and changing readership habits.
“It’s very hard for me to understand why it makes sense to invest heavily in New York unless it’s to try to make life miserable for the New York Times,” said Alex Jones, a veteran Times reporter who is now a professor at Harvard University. “My guess is he’s going to offer ads at a reduced rate. News Corp. can afford to do that and the Times can’t.”
Mr. Murdoch already has been engaged in a money-losing newspaper battle for years here, pitting his scrappy New York Post against rival tabloid the New York Daily News. The Post, best known for its Page 6 gossip and clever headlines such as “Headless Body Found in Topless Bar,” is said to be bleeding red ink, as much as US$70-million a year.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Howard Stern’s Ms. Tiger Woods Hottest Mistress Award Goes To…

Howard Stern’s Ms. Tiger Woods Hottest Mistress Award Goes To…
Who doesn’t love Howard Stern and what he’s all about.
I wonder how the conversation went when the idea of giving out $100,000 to the hottest Tiger Woods mistress.
Stern: “How can we piss out Tiger, let’s get all his mistresses in bikinis and vote on how’s the hottest one!”
Everyone else: “Brilliant, and give them $100 grand!”
I didn’t even know he still had that much money to throw around, probably residuals from his moive.
So the winner of Howard Stern’s contest was the 27 year old waitress Jamie Jungers. We all can call her Ms. Tiger Woods Mistress 2010.
The other girls were Loredana Jolie, 26, ex-escort girl and another waitress Jaimee Grubbs, 24.
Howard made them come out in bikinis and answer questions about their affair with Tiger. One of the questions was to describe how Woods was in bed and how it was having sex with a 34 year old man.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Are Republicans Getting Away With Sex Scandals?

Then consider the folks on the other side of the aisle. Ensign’s sex scandal, which appears to include possible criminal misconduct, hasn’t interfered with him remaining a Republican senator in good standing. Sen. David Vitter (R-La.), another right-wing, “family-values” hypocrite, got caught with a prostitute. Not only did he stay in office, but he’s seeking re-election — and polls show him winning. Gov. Mark Sanford’s (R-S.C.) sex scandal got plenty of coverage, but note that he’s still the governor. Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons (R) found himself in a sex scandal, but like Vitter, he not only stayed in his job, but he’s running for another term, too. Former Sen. Larry Craig (R-Idaho) was caught up in an especially humiliating controversy, but he didn’t resign before the end of his term, either.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Health care ad spending grows; will it matter?

Other evidence Anzalone cited to prove Vitter’s weakness: 1) the incumbent is almost totally known (92 percent name ID) while Melancon, who has held the 3rd district since 2006 has room to grow (59 percent name ID) 2) 43 percent of the sample want to reelect Vitter while 47 percent want someone new and 3) more than eight in ten (84 percent) of voters were “bothered” by his involvement in the “D.C. Madam” prostitution ring. “The declining or static nature of Vitter’s support, in the face of an improved Republican climate elsewhere, demonstrates the damage done to the Vitter brand is permanent and will not simply be erased or overlooked by broader political environment improvement for Republican,” wrote Anzalone.

… The Sex King” – 1008 – Scandal in Connecticut – Jermiah Rockwell is on trial for running a prostitution ring in the tony hills of the state. He claims it is simply and escort service “providing bright, interesting attractive young women” for the rich men in the area to keep company with. During his trial all the local press lust for an interview with him. But he chooses one young female reporter, Maureen Laffin, to exclusively state his case. He believes that the jury will defy the judge’s order and read everything he can persuade this ethical and forthright journalist to print. During the interview he is peppering her with his iconoclastic and pacifist views. Why did he choose her? Bill C Davis other 2 character play, “Mass Appeal,” was a hit on Broadway and a successful acclaimed film that became one of the most produced plays in the country.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Editorial: Out of the way

The truth is the governor has failed to govern for a while, stretching back to last summer when two Democrats jumped ship to give the Republicans a majority in the state Senate. The resulting power struggle shut down state government for several weeks, despite the governor’s asking lawmakers to put the people above politics. The lawmakers simply do not listen to him.
Since taking over as governor after former Gov. Eliot Spitzer was caught paying high-priced call girls for sex, Paterson has achieved nothing. He has made a lot of proposals to help trim the state’s $8 billion deficit. Some, like his plan to tax sugary soft drinks, are even laughed at – none more so than a short-lived idea to make New Yorkers pony up $10 for a new license plate. His latest budget will likely fail, mostly because it’s full of cuts to the health care industry, a major employer on Long Island.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: NY Attorney General Recuses Himself From Paterson Investigation

The superintendent of the state police, Harry Corbitt, and the governor’s spokesman, Peter Kauffman, have also stepped down.
The state ethics panel last week said Paterson had lied about accepting World Series game tickets.
The governor was with his teenage son, Johnson and another aide days before the alleged assault at the opening game of the 2009 World Series. The New York State Commission on Public Integrity said Paterson had not intended to pay for the tickets, costing $2,125 in total, in violation of gift rules for public officials.
Paterson has denied any wrongdoing in both the controversy over the tickets and the domestic assault case. He has also dismissed continued calls for his resignation. The beleaguered governor, a Democrat, took office in March 2008 when he succeeded Eliot Spitzer, who resigned amid a prostitution scandal.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Court Reinstates Limits On Brothel Ads

A federal appeals court has reinstated Nevada’s laws that regulate advertising of the state’s legal brothels. Thursday’s decision by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals overturns a 1997 ruling by Las Vegas Federal Judge James Mahan, who struck down two state laws that kept brothels from advertising in Clark and Washoe counties, where prostitution is illegal. Las Vegas is located in Clark County, while Reno is part of Washoe County. In a statement, Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto praised the appeals court ruling, saying “common sense has prevailed.” The American Civil Liberties Union, which challenged the brothel ad laws, plans an appeal.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Jamie Jungers wins Best Miss Tiger Woods contest

Here’s Jamie Jungers leaving The Howard Stern Show this morning where she took first place in a Miss Tiger Woods contest against Jaime Grubbs and Loredana Jolie by apparently describing his penis in the most detail. Why not?
Ironically, this is the same Jamie Jungers who claims she doesn’t want to be remembered as Tiger Woods’ mistress, and isn’t a prostitute. That being said, she’ll just go ahead and cash this $75,000 for all that sex she had with him.
But, again, not a hooker.
