Manhattan Strip Clubs: The NYC Air Traffic Control Kid and Aviation Professionalism

This kid was being supervised by his father, an air traffic controller, while he was talking over the radio. The pilots always repeat instructions from air traffic controllers to ensure the message has been clearly received. There was no risk here; just a child having a moment in the spotlight. I think it’s time America grew up and stopped being so paranoid.

“…the JFK tower incident is at least the third troubling episode in six months…” Only 3 incidents in 6 months. How many flights and flying hours is that? Media needs to get a sense of proportion.

I agree with Jeff.
At no time safety was compromised and neither was the child doing the actual controlling.
The hysteria is promoted by folks who have no understanding of the system.
If this guy had taken his kid to a strip club there would have been a lot less cry for his head.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: NY governor’s protectors show knack for upheaval

The proposal comes after Paterson’s request that Attorney General Andrew Cuomo investigate whether the State Police, governor or members of his administration improperly influenced the woman making the abuse allegation. Paterson has acknowledged that he spoke with the woman, Sherruna Booker, but said that she initiated the call and that he did not pressure her to change her story or not pursue a charge.
Top politicians are calling on Paterson, who last week dropped his campaign for a full term, to resign. Adding to his troubles, a state report accused him on Wednesday of violating state ethics laws by seeking and obtaining free Yankees tickets for the 2009 World Series, then possibly lying about his intention to pay for them. The charges came as he forged ahead with meetings focused on the state’s budget deficit.
Paterson became governor after Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s term ended with his 2008 resignation following disclosures that he was patronizing a prostitute at his Washington, D.C., hotel room with his security detail nearby.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: NY governor abandons bid for full, 4-year term

Raising his right hand beside his wife, Michelle, he told a crowded press room: “I give you this personal oath. I have never abused my office. Not now, not ever. I believe that when the facts are reviewed, the truth will prevail.”
While politicians from both parties wouldn’t say the governor should resign because of the scandal, the city’s leading tabloids called for his ouster in front-page editorials Friday.
“Time to go, Dave,” the New York Post said in its headline. The New York Daily News said that Paterson had “demeaned his high office” and was not trustworthy.
Paterson insisted that he would not resign and pledged to serve out his term “fighting for the state of New York.”
Paterson took office amid the prostitution scandal that ended fellow Democrat Eliot Spitzer’s term, defiantly introducing himself to legislators at his swearing in, declaring: “I am David Paterson and I am the governor of New York!”

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Review: Brooklyn’s Finest

The opening scene involves a Brooklyn cop, Sal (Ethan Hawke) shooting a man (Vincent D’Onofrio) and then proceeding to steal the dead guy’s wad of cash. It turns out his cop salary isn’t cutting it. His wife is expecting twins and he is trying to buy a bigger house for his family. (Oddly enough, the basement in his home is used as a poker room for him and his fellow cop buddies.)
The second of three cops is Eddie (Richard Gere), a veteran of the police force.
He’s been working on the job for the last two years and has seven days left until his retirement is official. But he’s not exactly what you would call a role model. He’s an alcoholic, he sleeps around with a prostitute and he would rather ignore a situation than take action while he is working.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: New York governor charged with breaking ethics law

Paterson, speaking with reporters in Albany, denied any wrongdoing. “We are asking to meet with the Public Integrity Commission, based on the facts of the testimony that we dispute,” he said. “We also dispute that I solicited anything from the Yankees and acted improperly.”
Paterson’s involvement in the scandal over the aide’s assault case, has raised questions over inappropriate intervention and prompted calls for his resignation.
He has repeatedly insisted he will stay on as governor and that his ongoing leadership is essential to state budget negotiations.
“I feel that the best thing is for me to remain as governor, and I don’t think that I have done anything wrong that would merit that I shouldn’t be governor,” Paterson said in Albany.
Paterson asked Attorney General Andrew Cuomo — now the front-runner for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination — to investigate the matter.
Paterson, the state’s first black governor, took over in 2008 when former Governor Eliot Spitzer resigned over a prostitution scandal. Paterson’s term expires at the end of this year.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Beleaguered New York governor faces growing scandal

A New York ethics panel on Wednesday accused Gov. David Paterson of lying under oath and of improperly taking Yankee baseball tickets, the latest scandal for the official who was forced to give up his chance to seek a full term this year.
The accusation, which could cost the governor about $100,000 in penalties, was also referred to prosecutors in Albany, the state capital, who could bring criminal charges against Paterson, fighting to stay in office after allegations he intervened in a domestic violence case involving a top aide.
Paterson, a lieutenant governor who took the top office after his predecessor quit in a prostitution scandal about two years ago, has insisted he will stay in office, though pressure from fellow Democrats has been building for him to step aside. He has already given up a November race for his first full term because of the lack of support.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Madam Governor?

The madam who supplied call-girls to New York’s then-Gov. Elliot Spitzer is running for his old job on a platform of legalizing marijuana, legalizing prostitution and legalizing same-
sex marriage.
Kristin Davis, who did time, announced for governor of New York as candidate of the newly formed Personal Freedom Party.
The Empire State has been embroiled in a series of political and sex scandals.
An expensive night of sex at Washington D.C.’s venerable Mayflower Hotel forced Spitzer from office.
Current Gov. David Paterson has announced he will not seek re-election, and is being pressured to resign over charges that he worked to cover up a domestic violence allegation against a key aide.

“Kristin Davis’ bold plan would bring in an estimated $2.5 billion in new revenues from legalized prostitution and marijuana. Cuomo, Lazio and the other candidates have no bold plan to increase revenues and lower taxes.”

Manhattan Strip Clubs: Anna Undercover: NYC, Colorado, & Chile

As my stripper-friend and I filled out applications, we had stared hopelessly at the six-foot, gorgeous, model-like Amazons already dancing there, and convinced ourselves that the club, Lace, would not hire us.

I hurried back to my laptop and posted about it in the comments on other entries. I called my stripper-friend who also got hired. I called my boyfriend.

“Um, could you go ahead and neglect to mention that you work at a strip club and blog about naked people?” My dad asked me quietly. “We don’t want to scare Patch’s family away until after the wedding.”

“What does your boyfriend think of you working at a strip club?” She asked as we lounged on the bed in Patch’s parents’ guest room. “You are working so far below your potential. The environment is horrible, and I can’t imagine that he’s impressed with your unwillingness to live up to our expectations of you.”

TIGER, we miss you.
Come back now.
It’s time for Tiger Woods to come out of his cocoon of self-loathing and guilt and start hitting golf balls in anger, start competing, start playing tournaments, start winning again.
It’s time for the world’s No. 1 golfer to leave the bizarro world he has been living in, hiding like some sort of fugitive in various parts unknown, and return to whatever sense of normalcy his life was before — minus the strippers, porn stars and pancake house hostesses, of course.
That time needs to be now — specifically a return to competitive golf in three weeks at
the Arnold Palmer Invitational, an event he has won six
