Manhattan Adult Entertainment: group asks Paterson to resign

The New York Times has previously quoted the alleged victim’s lawyer, Lawrence Safler, saying that the governor called the woman. The lawyer said the governor asked how she was doing, the newspaper reported.
Through a spokesman, the governor told The New York Times that the woman initiated the phone call and declined to answer further questions.
The governor also declined to answer questions about the alleged phone call to Johnson’s accuser in an interview with WOR radio last week.
Last week, Paterson — the New York lieutenant governor who stepped into the governor’s mansion when Eliot Spitzer resigned in 2008 over a prostitution scandal — abandoned his campaign for election to a full term, saying it was not the “latest distraction but an accumulation” of obstacles that were behind his decision.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Gillibrand All But Abandons Paterson »

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand today said the man to whom she owes her job, Gov. David Paterson, should step down if the reports that he asked two staffers to intervene in David Johnson’s alleged domestic abuse case prove true. “At the end of the day, if the allegations of abuse of power are true, then the governor will be unable to govern and he will have to step down,’’ Gillibrand told NY1’s Michael Scotto in an interview that will air on “Inside City Hall” at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. tonight. “Domestic violence and abuse of power have no place in our society and certainly no place in our government,” Gillibrand continued. “The allegations that have been made are very, very serious. Attorney General (Andrew) Cuomo is going to run a thorough investigation. I expect everyone in the administration to cooperate fully with that investigation.”
On March 11, 2008, then-Rep. Gillibrand became the first Democratic member of New York’s congressional delegation to call for then-Gov. Eliot Spitzer to resign if the “serious allegations” about his involvement in a prostitution ring were true.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Mother of 4 Accused of Selling Sex On Craigslist

New Castle police say Chappaqua resident Melinda Brennan, 46, was charged with prostitution after she advertised sex for money on Craigslist. Brennan lives near the home of former President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. (WPIX) – A Chappaqua mother of four was arrested and charged with prostitution after police say she advertised sex for money on Craigslist. According to New Castle police, Melinda Brennan, 46, specifically sought to service “upscale men” in her ads. Brennan, who lives just a mile from the Chappaqua home of former President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, was arrested at her Quaker St. residence after she agreed to have sex with an undercover officer on Feb 19. Local authorities launched an investigation on Brennan back in January after receiving an anonymous tip “about weird things going on at the house.” Brennan, a registered nurse who is currently going through a divorce, is expected to appear in court on Thursday. Her husband is the custodial parent of their four children.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Call me Madame Governor

Gov. David Paterson of New York came to office when Gov. Eliot Spitzer resigned. Spitzer hired a prostitute and took her across state lines, a federal offense for which he was never charged.

But someone who WILL be running for governor is Kristin Davis. Not the one from “Sex in the City.” This Kristin Davis, better known as the Manhattan Madame, spent four months in prison in 2008 on charges related to running the escort service that sold Spitzer the services that got him into hot water. Davis is running on a pro-same-sex marriage, pro-marijuana, pro-prostitution platform.

Likening politics to prostitution, Davis told Fox News, “They are all doing it for money.” Oh, and she said she was providing hookers for Spitzer weekly for five years — ever since he was the state’s attorney general.
And about her platform, she claims legalizing pot and prostitution will bring $3 billion in new state revenues. Even Farouk Shami didn’t promise that much.

Manhattan Strip Clubs: Jeff Daniels on Broadway – Desperate Housewives Julie Benz as LA Detective

Even as he takes to the stage again, Daniels is being represented elsewhere. At his beloved Purple Rose Theater in Michigan, they’re getting ready to mount four new American plays this coming season. And his big-screen “Paper Man” is opening in limited release May 1. With Ryan Reynolds, Emma Stone and Lisa Kudrow, the movie revolves around the unlikely friendship that sparks up between a teenage girl and a washed-up writer who has an imaginary superhero friend. “It’s one of those indies,” Jeff says. “I’m glad it got picked up for distribution. It’s a real good story.”
Now, with all the snow being dumped on New York, it would be nice if the weather relented a little for the play’s re-unveiling. Daniels is unfazed. According to him, “Broadway doesn’t care. Lights up at 8. Let’s go.”
THE BIG-SCREEN SCENE
: Julie Benz (pictured) has been having a blast “being able to do comedy again with her “Desperate Housewives” stripper role. She also enjoyed making the forthcoming big screen “Answers to Nothing” with funnyman Dane Cook.

Manhattan Strip Clubs: Astoria Characters: The Proud Parader

At age 8, he went to work. “I packed spuds at the local grocery,” he says. “My payment was an orange drink and a bag of potato crisps called Taytos. In the summers, I worked on a fruit farm. In my spare time, I hung out at the convent; the Sisters of Mercy had an enormous impact on my life for good.”
The “religious lad” in the family, he joined the Irish Christian Brothers at 14. “I was told to be totally honest in confession, and I told the priests I was thinking about sex and that I had an attraction for other guys,” he says. “So they told me I could not be a brother and made me leave.”
