Manhattan Strip Clubs: Must-Read Comics, as Picked by Wired.com Readers

Posted by: itechchef | 02/23/10 | 10:52 pm |
Excuse me for not researching the criteria or history of this list…with that I say The Essential comic Book by far is Lone Wolf and Cub. First Published in 1970 and truely considered a Manga but blurs the line better than any. The Story is epic and the art is akin to visiting a museum. Current print is from Dark Horse and in 28 volumes @ 9.99 each new. Synopsis: Lone Wolf and Cub chronicles the story of Ogami Ittō, the Shogun’s executioner who uses a dōtanuki battle sword. Disgraced by false accusations from the Yagyū clan, he is forced to take the path of the assassin. Along with his three-year-old son, Daigorō, they seek revenge on the Yagyū clan and are known as “Lone Wolf and Cub”.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Finnegan directs home away from home

… I’m still doing a lot of balancing,” said Finnegan, whose parents, now in their early 80s, still live in Galway. He does some consultancy work when he finds some free hours. He’s retained a small number of clients whose systems he knows well, but he doesn’t seek any more.
“I was successful at it and didn’t want to let it go entirely,” he said.
The New York Irish Center, though, has become the main focus of Finnegan’s professional life. “You can’t work at something this hard unless you believe in it to the degree that I do,” he said.
The office manager is the only other full-timer, and there is a part-time building superintendent. A few others receive some compensation for services rendered but otherwise the center is dependent upon volunteers. “There are so many people I can reach out to,” said the executive director.
Nobody has any problems with traveling to a neighborhood that in 1980s was in Finnegan’s phrase a “waterfront cesspool” of drug-pushing and prostitution.

Manhattan Strip Clubs: Anna Undercover: Private Eyes

I and my travel buddy, another stripper, visited one such oasis as customers near the giant, brightly lit billboards and marquees of Broadway.

They danced on the bar separating our seats from their stage, showed us their cute behinds and boobs (of course!), and talked to us a bit. The girls I saw seemed, based on genuine-looking smiles and friendly attitudes, to be enjoying both their jobs as strippers and that particular night at work.

$9 for a small container of Voss water. Alrightythen. It is a strip club, after all. :)
We watched a bit longer, and took in the surroundings a bit more: small, as dark as the Outhouse except for the stage, it appeared similar in size and set-up to Lawrence’s Paradise Saloon, a small strip club two miles past the Lawrence Airport on Highway 40.

Manhattan Strip Clubs: Self-Defeating Awareness

The gay community is a minority, plain and simple. If we were alone in our ventures to fight for equal rights, we would lose every single time; the values of the majority would always trump those of the minority. Instead, in our quest for acceptance and equal rights, we are obligated to reach out to others to educate.
Filthy/Gorgeous is meant to be fun, and it rightly should be, but let’s not forget our end goals. Fraternities don’t have to worry about whether having strippers at their parties gives a bad name to the Greek community or hampers their fight for equal rights. Yet in a heteronormative society, where gays and lesbians will always be viewed as “others,” any moral infraction we commit is cherry picked and used as fuel to keep us oppressed. We need to break the stereotypes that keep us oppressed. We need more than just fun — we need education.

Reported by LISA EVERS
MYFOXNY.COM – Pole dancing isn’t just for strippers. It has become both a fitness craze as well as a competitive event. Now the general manager at New York’s famous SCORES strip club says it should be an Olympic sport, as well.
Some of the club’s dancers have become so adept at it they want to compete at the Olympic level. Christina Carballo, who has her own line of clothing called Bad Girls, says she has competed in pole dancing competitions and now says she’d like to go for Olympic gold.
SCORES General Manager Edward Norwick says he plans to official petition the International Olympic Committee.
