Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Sportscaster Marvell Scott indicted for raping prostitute

A New York grand jury has indicted former WABC sportscaster Marvell Scott for allegedly raping a prostitute in 2008, New York County District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr., announced Tuesday, Feb. 23.
Scott, 36, faces charges of rape, child endangerment and patronizing a prostitute. According to the indictment, the prostitute was 14 at the time of the alleged assault.

According a NYPD representative, the 14-year-old was a runaway who was working as a prostitute to make some quick cash.
Scott, a medical doctor, left WABC in April 2009 to focus on his sports medicine practice. He announced he was taking a vacation and never returned to the station.
The charge of rape in the second degree rape is a class-D felony. Patronizing a prostitute and endangering the welfare of a child are misdemeanors.

Manhattan Escorts: Porn star pregnancy claim

Joslyn James, 32, said she was expecting Tiger’s babies at the same time his Swedish wife Elin was pregnant with his two children.
She said she miscarried the first child about the time Elin gave birth to daughter Sam in June 2007.
And she claimed she aborted the second baby close to the February 2009 birth of Woods’s son Charlie.
James, whose film CV includes Big Breasted Nurses and My First Sex Teacher, said her three-year affair with the disgraced sports hero always involved unprotected sex.
But she insisted she never told 34-year-old Woods that she was pregnant. “I didn’t want to ruin anything,” she said.
Interviewed on US TV, James said she was still in love with Woods, despite being one of as many as 11 alleged mistresses, including waitresses, escort girls and another porn actor.

Manhattan Strip Clubs: "Headless Body in Topless Bar" convict says he’s innocent

… Headless Body in Topless Bar” convict says he’s innocent
It’s one of the most famous headlines in modern journalism, courtesy of the New York Post. Charles Dingle, the man convicted of the crime, is fighting to be paroled and tells the paper that he didn’t commit the crime. According to investigators, Dingle was drinking at a strip club when he shot the owner in the head. He held four women hostage and raped one of them.
At some point, he learned that one of the women was also a mortician and tried to get her to remove the bullet from the owner’s head, the Post reports. (No bullet, no way to tie him to the crime, right?) She wasn’t able to, though, so Dingle allegedly made her cut off the man’s head with a steak knife.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Toyota under Investigation by SEC for Safety Issues

Former McKesson HBOC Chairman Charles McCall will remain free until his formal sentencing date, The Recorder has reported, despite requests from prosecutors to jail him immediately for failing to disclose an arrest for soliciting prostitution to court officials. A federal judge this week determined that McCall posed no flight risk, The Recorder explained, since he has made all of his scheduled court appearances since he was originally indicted on securities fraud charges in 2003. However, The Recorder added, the judge did raise McCall’s bail and ordered him to stay off his boat – which can reportedly make it to the Bahamas “on a clear day” – while he awaits formal sentencing for his crimes. more…

Manhattan Escorts: Allan Kornblum Dies, Wrote Key Parts of Surveillance Act

Avants was convicted and sentenced to life in prison, where he died in 2004.
By 1969, Kornblum had become director of security at Princeton University, where he received a doctorate from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs in 1973, his dissertation on ethical behavior and corruption in the New York City Police Department. Because he was a student as well as an administrator, he was able to attend many “students-only” meetings as unrest swept the nation’s campuses. He creatively ended a December 1970 “snow riot,” a semi-nude demonstration by hundreds of students at the first snowfall, by starting a chant of “Dillon! Dillon!” that directed them to Dillon Gym, where hot chocolate and doughnuts awaited. Two years later, after women had been admitted to Princeton, he established escort services to ensure their safety.

Manhattan Strip Clubs: Not like any gossip columnist I know

6. This is a gossip columnist nobody wants to pester? There’s no intellectual traffic. My life is a daily, hourly snowstorm of stuff — faxes, deliveries, mail, hand-delivered parcels. Fitch gets maybe two phone calls. He’s not even obsessively checking e-mail.
7. Tiny wastepaper basket. Like they have in hotel johns. Not what could take the blizzard of clutter we get hourly.
8. She’s in the daily news business, but she lies on the couch at this 1 a.m.-ish time to first read that day’s newspaper.
9. They have zero connection to their apartment, as though it’s not theirs. No cleaning up a spot or straightening something she just notices. And although they appear quite comfortable, there’s no maid. Yet, as they rise the next day, coffee awaits.
10. The only real-life tabloid headline they reference, from the New York Post, is incorrect. It was “Headless body in topless bar,” not “Headless man.” Even in Albania, they know that. I mean — I’m sitting right here.

… I said, ‘You know, also Toyota’s trademark is safety,’” Terry said. “And so for them to be accused, basically, of hiding a safety problem is a little like a pastor being caught with a prostitute.” — Joseph Morton

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Walmart buys into Vudu

Walmart attempted to take down Netflix in 2003 when it launched a competing DVD-by-mail rental service. But Walmart abandoned the venture in 2005 and started directing customers to Netflix, conceding that the company was “the pioneer in online movie rentals.” At the time, Walmart said it would focus on growing its online movie sales. Buying Vudu will enable it to do so on a whole new level.
Aiding Walmart’s effort: Vudu has deals with nearly all of the major studios and indie film distributors, which has enabled it to offer users a catalog of 16,000 titles, including many in high definition. Vudu also has offered sexually explicit programming through the Adult Video Network, which produces the annual Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas. That is likely to end with ownership by Walmart, known for its conservative business practices.
