Manhattan Strip Clubs: EV Day with William Corbett

… Fashion is sort of a blanket word that covers the idea of trend. It doesn’t really connect with me as a term to describe my work, but its used loosely to refer to styles of clothing. If you look at this [indicating fishnet material stretched on a frame], you can see that this is basically a stripper’s bodysuit.  There are holes where her breasts would be revealed, and then the rest of the material is wrapped around her.  This work is about the action of the body and my interest in architecture. But is this fashion? I suppose there is an 80’s reference to fashion, but these fishnet body suits are still widely available.  For my work, I pick clothing that appeals to me, that has potential to translate ideas through its inherent structure about releasing gravity, ecstasy, and transformation of the image of the body and ends up having emotional impact.

Manhattan Strip Clubs: Pamela Anderson bodacious at Fashion Week

One of the highlights on the runways at New York Fashion Week: Pamela Anderson in this space-age stripper costume from Richie Rich A*MUSE, which she modeled on Wednesday.

Can’t wait to see what, or how little, she wears when she (reportedly) competes in the upcoming season of “Dancing With the Stars.”

The women’s costumes on that show are already next-to-nothing, so we can only imagine what Anderson will wear when she tangos.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Theater Listings: Feb. 19 — 25

… AS YOU LIKE IT’ Sam Mendes’s willfully chilly production of Shakespeare’s pastoral comedy firmly emphasizes the adversity rather than its sweet uses. Juliet Rylance is a thoughtful Rosalind, Stephen Dillane an amusingly dry Jaques (3:05). Harvey Theater, Brooklyn Academy of Music, 651 Fulton Street, Fort Greene , (718) 636-4100, bam.org. (Isherwood)20100218
★ ‘AVENUE Q’ Even without legs of their own, the singing hand puppets of this Tony-winning musical are still standing tall in their new Off Broadway digs. This “Sesame Street”-style show about being young and jobless in New York remains fresh, in all senses of the word (2:15) New World Stages, 340 West 50th Street, Clinton , (212) 239-6200, telecharge.com. ‘CAPTAIN PANTOJA AND THE SPECIAL SERVICE/PANTALEÓN Y LAS VISITADORAS’
Peruvian soldiers in the Amazon need female companionship, so Captain Pantoja enlists a whole corps of prostitutes, complete with cute, midriff-baring uniforms. This rousing, sexy and surprisingly sweet new musical could give bawdiness a good name. In Spanish with simultaneous English translation.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Whore Works Presents The ABSOLUT GAY THEATRE FESTIVAL DUBLIN

WHORING IS HARD WORK. And now the competition is about to get stiffer with the influx of the newly jobless. Whore Works takes a sharp, witty, balls-out look at a black male hooker’s day-to-night struggle with hating and sometimes loving men who are paying him to, well………you know.
After acclaimed runs in New York, Sugar Valley Theatricals joins with Creative Concept Productions to present WHORE WORKS Monday-Saturday May 3-8, 2010 as part of The Absolut Gay Theatre Festival Dublin
WHORE WORKS features a male prostitute (played by Juan Michael Porter II, near left) servicing several clients, (all played by Bryan Webster, far left) over the course of several vignettes that are by turns pulse-quickening, thought-provoking, hilarious and surreal. Whore Works presents a new benchmark in theater, an unflinching, stereotype-exploding exploration of black male sexuality.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Ex-New York police chief Bernard Kerik gets four-year jail term for tax fraud

From The Times February 19, 2010 Ex-New York police chief Bernard Kerik gets four-year jail term for tax fraud
The former New York police chief who became a national hero after the September 11 terrorist attacks was sentenced yesterday to four years in prison. Bernard Kerik, the city’s only police commissioner to ever plead guilty to a crime, confessed to eight felonies, including tax fraud and lying to White House officials.
The sentencing marked a dramatic downfall for the son of a prostitute who began his career as a pony-tailed undercover officer and rose to become the head of America’s largest police department.
His career began to unravel when President Bush nominated him to become America’s homeland security chief in 2004 — placing him under intense scrutiny as a result.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Red Riding (2010)

1974 is also key because it contextualizes our characters and events. The heavy atmosphere prepares us for the journey ahead; a journey through alleyways and ghettos, though crooked businesses and police precincts â the lenses always meditating on the despair, corruption, and refuse, yet the color timing, compositions and lighting always remaining beautiful and almost ethereal and exquisite. The film itself is fabled femme fatale. Alluring, and hypnotic but dangerous.
The acting is stellar and consistent throughout the series. Highlights include Robert Sheehan’s (Song for a Craggy Boy) BJ as a glam rock male prostitute. He is enigmatic, tragic, but never lacking hope; I would like to see him one day play Marc Bolan in the story of his life. Veteran character actor Jim Carter (Top Secret and Haunted Honeymoon) is exquisitely corrupt and mean-as-hell as the head of the Yorkshire police, very volatile and grotesque to watch. Warren Clarke (Dim from A Clockwork Orange) as Bill Malloy also gives a strong performance as a man trying, against all odds to save a child thought lost against the cynicism of the system.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Marchesa Fall 2010 – Fashion Week Runway Review

WHO WAS THERE: It was an entertainment frenzy as usual; Georgina’s husband, Harvey Weinstein, held court as Estelle, Brooklyn Decker, Nichole Richie, Molly Sims, Katie Lee, Melissa George, and Beth Otrosky swanned about in Marchesa. Making a bid to cross-over? Irina Lazareanu, Tinsley Mortimer and Peaches Geldof also represented.
WHAT WE THOUGHT: Chapman and Craig are always wildly inspired, and in turn, wildly inspiring. This season, the designers did not disappoint. They leaped through technical hoops (as ever). In fact, the circus courtesan inspiration is quite fitting to their high-flying fashion tricks. Gowns defied gravity and fantastical fairy tale dresses were made seedy circus cool with beads and embroidery snaking like tattoos around models’ netted arms, necks and legs. Feathers were prominent, mixed and layered into tutu-like mini dresses. A black short star dress even made one think of another performance ring, or rink rather: the Olympics. Were the girls thinking about making a bid from the red carpet to the great white way of Vancouver? With these two, no ambition is too great, and it shows.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Disgraced Ex-NY Police Chief Kerik Gets 4-Year Sentence

Kerik is scheduled to report to prison May 17. The prosecution had asked in court papers that he be remanded immediately to prison after sentencing, citing concerns he might become a fugitive.
The tough sentence probably came as little surprise to at least some who had observed Kerik’s legal problems with the judge.
In October, the judge temporarily jailed Kerik for violating a court order and leaking sealed information relating to his upcoming trial to generate public sympathy.
At the time, the judge showed little love for Kerik, describing him as a “toxic combination of self-minded focus and arrogance.”
Today’s sentencing capped a tragic downfall for a driven man who seemed to have had such a promising future despite all of his challenges, which included having an alcoholic father and a mother who was a prostitute.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Tiger Woods: Joslyn’s sister says the Porn Star is a “liar”

This was a kind of shocking revelation for all of us after the Porn Star and former mistress of Tiger appeared with a complete saintly makeover and said that she was impregnated twice by the ace golfer. The Porn star also allegedly said that she aborted the second baby coz Tiger’s wife Elin was about to give birth to their second son Charlie and so she didn’t wanted to ruin their happiness.
But Samantha Siwik doubts her sister’s intentions as she further added: “If she was really that interested in Tiger Woods and his family then she would not have got involved with him in the first place because he was married. I think she was acting for the camera and her whole new look was trying to make herself out to be an innocent and more professional person when the reality is that she works in adult entertainment industry. The whole thing was phony because she is not a prim and proper person who cares about other people.”
