Manhattan Strip Clubs: NJ Corruption Trials Get Rolling!

Finally, New Jersey corruption lawsuits are poised to get underway! Jury selection has begun for the first trial of suspended Jersey City Deputy Mayor Leona Beldini, arrested six months ago when feds made massive raids and arrests. The former burlesque dancer will take the stand and defend herself against charges of extortion and bribery, while informant Solomon Dweck will give his much-awaited account of how he secretly recorded hours of incriminating evidence in restaurants, diners, meetings and parking lots.
No stranger to shady dealings, 74-year-old Beldini was once known as The Hope Diamond on stage. “She was a shapely, dark-haired burlesque queen, performing through the 1950s and ’60s from Buffalo to Toledo, as a headliner in places like Union City’s old Hudson Theater,” wrote the Star Ledger. In high school she made the transition from show girl to stripper, and later on to treasurer for Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy. Now she’ll stand up against charges that she took $20,000 in illicit campaign contributions.

Manhattan Strip Clubs: Damon and the Yankees deserve each other

January 25, 2010 at 1:03 pm by Chris Churchill
Am I the only one who finds this “standoff” between Johnny Damon and the Yankees utterly and completely ridiculous?
Here we have the Yankees, the team that throws money around like A-Rod at a strip club, suddenly pretending to be fiscally austere and responsible. And here we have Damon, an aging ballplayer who throws like a grandmother, pretending there are other teams salivating to sign him.
Simply put, Damon and the Yankees are a pretty good match. The Yankees need an outfielder, to the extent that any team with a $200 million payroll really needs anything. And Damon must love playing in that little bandbox in the Bronx, where the short right-field porch allowed him to hit 24 fly balls homers last year.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: NYC Limo Offers Ride — and Marijuana

It’s a conspicuous sight in New York City — a tricked-out 1970s Cadillac limo, trolling the late-night streets for customers. For $100 an hour, the driver will take you wherever you want to go. He also offers something else — sharing marijuana with him.
A reporter for the New York Daily News and three friends booked a ride with Al the limo driver one late night. The newspaper withheld the driver’s last name because what he is doing is very illegal.
The white limo with racing stripes on the side and neon purple undercarriage lights picked them up at the appointed time. They climbed inside, which the reporter described thusly:
The inside was decked out in Studio-54-meets-New-Orleans-brothel: red velvet ceilings and floors, peace sign stickers, a dangling disco ball and leopard-print pillows.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Goldman Sachs UK partners to struggle by on just £1m a year

A Goldman Sachs’ spokesperson explained that they wanted to be seen to be exercising restraint, and felt that awarding themselves the wages of a mid-ranking premiership footballer seemed the best way to achieve this.
“We have no desire to aggravate the Government in this time of financial difficulty, so we will get by on the minimum subsistence allowance required by a modern investment banker.”
“I trust people will see this for what this is, a genuine attempt to suffer in solidarity with the rest of the country.”
Executives
Despite partners agreeing to a limit on their pay, less senior executives will earn significantly more, because frankly, they couldn’t give a shit what you think about them.
One told us, “Look, I’m an Investment banker.  Do you think I chose this profession so I could end each day with a nice warm fuzzy feeling inside?”
“No, I chose it so I could afford really expensive prostitutes to provide that feeling for me.”

Manhattan Strip Clubs: STEWART INJURED AFTER STRIPPER SCENES

STEWART INJURED AFTER STRIPPER SCENES
KRISTEN STEWART was left covered in bruises after struggling with her pole-dancing routine in upcoming film WELCOME TO THE RILEYS.
The actress plays a 16-year-old exotic dancer in the drama, and admits she was not prepared for the physically gruelling stripping scenes.
She tells E! Online, “I did some pole dancing. I got bruises all over my legs. I tore myself up doing it. It sucked. (But) the more I saw it, the more I wanted it (to perform). It was like a weird self-hating kind of thing. The cool thing about my character is she is not sultry and she is not sexy.”
Director Jake Scott asked the Twilight beauty to take lessons from a real stripper – but insists Stewart was still scared of shedding her clothes even though the set was closed off to everyone but cast and crew.
He adds, “She was terrified. The strip club we shot in was really a club, and it really was that dirty and really that tough. But she killed it.”

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Divorce – the Hollywood way: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie the latest stars to …

After the hearing – and a massive payout to his ex-wife – Sir Paul said: “There will be no more nagging, no more chaos, no more Heather… bliss. I have peace at last.”
CHARLIE SHEEN AND DENISE RICHARDS
The party guy was snared by the young star in 2002 after they dated for two years. In 2006, she filed for divorce while pregnant with their second daughter, saying she could take no more. She accused him of gambling, drug-taking and womanising. He retorted by calling her a “sad, jobless pig”.
LIZ HURLEY AND HUGH GRANT
One of the most amicable splits was between British stars Liz Hurley and Hugh Grant. Their 13-year relationship survived his prostitute liaison but they broke up in 2000. They have remained good pals, Liz marrying Indian heir Arun Nayer and Hugh enjoying a long relationship with Jemima Khan.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: China’s Cassandra prophecy

Of course, China has never really given women true equality. Whether it was foot-binding – an atrocious practice only finally outlawed by the Communists – or the Communists telling women how many children they may have, Chinese women have long been denied the right to determine their own futures, especially when it has come to their most basic right, the right of reproduction. The fact that women in China’s National Population and Family Planning Commission promote the policy does not make it any the less repressive of women.
The main concern raised by the CASS report is that 24 million men condemned to a life alone will result in a major strain on the State welfare system. Essentially, without families of their own to care for them as this generation starts ageing, the State will need to step in with sufficient pension funds and aged care facilities for the old bachelors of the latter decades of the 21st Century.
But other problems – such as a rising incidence of prostitution and violent crime – are on the horizon, judging by some current trends.
