Manhattan Adult Entertainment: The Vice Guide to Liberia

Next we visited a local brothel. The women who lived there talked with us about the U.N. soldiers who have sex with the child prostitutes and beat the older women, and then leave without paying.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Conan O’Brien’s Craigslist Ad

For those of you who didn’t see The Tonight Show last night, Conan O’Brien just continues to be absolutely hilarious when discussing his plans for his post Tonight Show career.  Last night, he actually put himself up for sale on Craigslist, picking up where he left off last week when he put the show up for sale on Craigslist.  Now, the ad has been pulled, but I got a screencap of it last night before Craigslist removed it.  That’s what you see above.
As you all know by now, I’m with Coco, so I found this stunt to be hilarious.  While Craigslist might not be quick to remove prostitute ads, they pounce on talk show hosting offers.  Once the show went live on the West Coast, that ad (m4ww in the casual encounters section) was gone.  Shame it didn’t make it all night, but I imagine Fox has already sent in their inquisitive email.  As bad as the situation has to feel for Conan, you know his fan support has got to be helping soothe the insults, if only slightly.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: If Democrats lose Kennedy’s seat, they should only blame themselves

Not long ago, Mr. Brown was down 30 points to Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley. Now it’s neck and neck, according to many polls. Mr. Brown is still the underdog, but the fact that it is even close is in itself hugely significant. It’s a bit like Tibet holding its own against China in a land war, or Abe Vigoda giving Tiger Woods a run for his money at Augusta (or, for that matter, at a Vegas nightclub).
Even more astounding, Mr. Brown is running directly against what everyone agrees was Ted Kennedy’s signature issue and legacy: health care reform. Massachusetts is the most famously Democratic state in the union. Barack Obama’s presidency and the Democratic congressional majority are invested in health care reform like a Bernie Madoff victim, and Mr. Brown is surging by running as the monkey wrench for the whole thing.
This is like a Democrat successfully running in Texas on tax hikes, gay marriage and funding the Pentagon solely through bake sales.
The Democratic Party has been panicking like brothel patrons with the cops at the door. They’ve been dropping shock troops of muckety-mucks, hacks, spinners and door-knockers into Boston like Rangers into Normandy.
