Why is Arenas getting the Michael Vick treatment? It’s less for what happened in the locker room than for how he acted afterward. When the New York Post story broke, Arenas went on Twitter and wrote, “[I] wake up this morning and seen I was the new JOHN WAYNE..lmao.” After a few more days of smart-aleck tweets, he greeted his teammates in a pre-game huddle by pointing his fingers like pistols and pretending to shoot them. A photo of the laughing Wizards went out over the wire—the NBA quickly tried to suppress it before reversing its stance—and Arenas was done for, banished by the commissioner on account of “his ongoing conduct.”
In other words, Arenas was suspended—and could face termination of the remaining $80 million on his Wizards contract—because he made a joke. Among the players whom the commissioner currently does deem fit to take the court are one who sprayed five shots in the air during a disturbance outside a strip club and another who has been charged with taking three concealed, loaded weapons out on a motorcycle ride, including a shotgun in a guitar case.

As for his father’s newest predicament, the son said, “I know my father better than anyone else who has spoken about this. . . . I know how he feels. It’s clear that he misspoke. And he apologized immediately, and genuinely.”
He added: “And I think he should go back to making the health-care bill be the best that it can be and doing whatever else he does.”

This father-and-son-but-not-a-team ticket strikes plenty of people as a brazen move. But this is Vegas, where the billboards for Jesus! (the savior) and Cheetahs! (the strip club) live happily near each other off the interstate, sanctuary wherever you want to find it.

(The New York Post) – A Delaware man says a visit to a New York strip club left him with a 90-minute gap in his memory and a $21,000 hole in his wallet, The New York Post reported Tuesday
In papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, Gerard Wall says he ended up with $21,620.60 in credit-card bills after a brief trip to Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club on West 51st Street.
On Dec. 12, 2008, Wall went into the epidermis emporium and was “provided with two alcoholic beverages,” the suit says. After downing the drinks, “he was approached by a dancer, who invited him to have a private lap dance in a separate room,” which he was told would cost him $300.

In cities such as San Francisco and DC, and here in New York, condoms have been used as evidence against alleged prostitutes. (In DC, police have been accused of claiming that suspects carrying three or more condoms have an intent to sell sex in “Prostitution Free Zones.”) Change.org asserts that the practice has had a chilling effect on safe-sex in the sex industry, with some undergound brothels refusing to keep condoms on premises. And the website also cites anecdotal reports that regular businesses have been reluctant to distribute NYC’s free condoms because they can also be used as evidence of “maintaining a premises for prostitution.”
The use of condoms as evidence is not specified under law as either acceptable or unacceptable, but a bill that has been languishing in the State Assembly would change that. If passed, the possession of contraceptive devices would not be permitted in specified criminal or civil proceedings as evidence of prostitution. The Sex Workers Project has a petition goi …

Ashley Dupre, known until now as a call girl to shamed governor Eliot Spitzer, has a brand new title — courtesy of the New York Post.
Ashley Dupre is 24 years old and has stayed busy during adulthood with the standard occupations. This includes being a cocktail waitress, an aspiring recording artist … and also a high-end call girl, assigned to service New York governor Eliot Spitzer until they fell prey to FBI wiretap interception in 2008.
…
And sometimes, some of us are the harvesters. When the Spitzer prostitution scandal broke, the Post featured Dupre posing on the front page – topless with hands covering her breasts. She looked naturally healthy, but MakeMeHeal.com took the liberty of examining another photo and speculating that she had undergone breast augmentation to create her C cup. In the same feature, comparison photos revealed a very likely rhinoplasty.

Fewer fans hit the 11th AVN Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas, even with the Consumer Electronics Show next door.
This long recession has overturned the adage that booze and sex are recession-proof, and it was very apparent at this year’s AVN Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas. Fan attendance at the 11th expo was down between 10% and 20% from a year, and there were 267 exhibitors this year, an 11% drop from 2009. That’s not too bad, considering how rough the downturn has been, according to expo spokesman Sean Devlin. “Given the economy, given where every other trade show is now, we feel pretty good,” Devlin told LasVegasWeekly.com. “We did have a number of exhibitors who . . . took smaller booths and brought fewer people. Giveaways were down, but the exhibitors decided that they have to be here.”
