At his plea hearing, Shabazz admitted that he conspired with Kasiem Brown, who was allegedly the leader of the prostitution enterprise, and others to recruit, harbor and transport minor girls and adult women to various cities within New Jersey, including Atlantic City, Elizabeth, Newark and Irvington.
Shabazz said that as pimps, he and Brown, 35, of Newark, organized and managed a prostitution ring that operated from at least as early as June 2005 and continued until October 2006. Shabazz admitted that as part of their enterprise they employed at least three girls who were under the age of 18 and several adult females to work as prostitutes for them.
Shabazz admitted that his role in the enterprise included driving the females to and from various locations in New Jersey so that they could work as prostitutes. According to Shabazz, those locations included such places as strip clubs, sex parties in private homes and various “tracks,” that is locations that are known for prostitution activity.

Senate Minority Leader Dean Skelos, a Republican from Rockville Centre, Long Island, agreed with Paterson’s call for fiscal responsibility while criticizing the governor and the Democratic majority for enacting the current spending plan.
“Instead of using stimulus funds to balance the budget, reduce taxes or create jobs, the Democrats in the Senate and Assembly spent every dime, then they raised your taxes and spent even more,” Skelos said in a response on NY1, a 24-hour news channel in New York City. “Now, Governor Paterson says things will be different.”
Paterson, 55, moved up from lieutenant governor in March 2008 when Eliot Spitzer resigned following a prostitution scandal. Paterson trailed state Attorney General Andrew Cuomo in a hypothetical Democratic primary matchup by about 3-to-1, a Quinnipiac University poll reported last month.

A former Ozone Park principal and athletic coach has been fired and faces possible criminal charges for allegedly soliciting sex from at least four male students, the city revealed in a detailed report Wednesday.
In a letter sent to city Schools Chancellor Joel Klein, Richard Condon, the special commissioner of investigation for the New York City School District, said an investigation into Quintin Cedano revealed he inappropriately touched students and engaged in explicit sexual innuendo with them while he was principal at the High School for Construction Trades, Engineering and Architecture.
Cedano, who worked at the school at 94-06 104th St. from June 2006 till October, had a complaint filed against him by a school guidance counselor in November 2008. The counselor reported Cedano, who was also an assistant basketball coach at the school, asked a 15-year-old student if he wanted to perform oral sexwhile the two were alone in an elevator in the building, according to the investigation report.

Last year, he gave a similar speech and promised to hold the line on spending and not raise taxes. Unfortunately, that did not happen.
Paterson’s speech came at a critical time for New York. The state’s fiscal woes are as bad as any time in its history, and scandals have rocked the Capitol to the point where just one statewide elected official, Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, is in the seat he was elected to in 2006.
And the speech comes as this year’s elections — the first time since 1938 that all statewide offices in state and federal governments will be on the ballot — are beginning to gear up.
Paterson has said he plans to run for a full-term this year after succeeding Eliot Spitzer as governor in March 2008. Spitzer resigned after being linked to a prostitute.

The RecessionNo one has any money and you surely can’t afford to be springing for dinners, shows and wallet-killing luxuries when walking around on dates. That’s just fine. Save that money up and fly solo. Actually, one of the great perks of the recession is that widespread poverty has resulted in the return of cheap prostitution.
The Freedom To Run Away Too many people fall into a serious relationship and the woman starts clinging by creating some horrible mutual responsibility like owning a cat. Cats are totally absurd! You come home from happy hour and immediately have to mop piss off your cheap linoleum.Who wants that? If you stay single, you can relegate the urination to your sexual practices. What’s better: having a cat or fucking the tits off a random one-night stand and returning home to your bottle of Advil PM before the witching hour?
The Williamsburg Pool Parties
Where else can you find halfnaked women dancing around to music that’s actually pretty good? Certainly not strip clubs. These onesie-clad women make Grizzly Bear tolerable and Jay-Z even showed up last summer!

In the last month of her life, Casey Johnson grabbed headlines with a messy engagement to reality star Tila Tequila. How a billionaire socialite wound up in bed with a hardknock stripper, filming soft-core porn on a webcam.
Before their engagement, both women were minor tabloid figures who sailed into the limelight with sordid, humiliating tales of crime: Tila as the victim of a confusing domestic violence case, and Casey as the accused perpetrator of a scandalous psychosexual theft. When the chips were down, the women found each other—then lost each other, in mysterious circumstances amid a torrent of contradictions.
Tomorrow I’ll sort out the myriad Rashomon-like narratives, villains, heroes, and victims. For now, though, just the facts over the course of the two emotionally-packed months in the lives of four Hollywood sapphists, one football player, and a family billionaires. (Which seems short, but remember: Romeo and Juliet did it in four days.)

Players are subject to discipline if they bring guns to the arena, practice facility or offsite promotional appearance. Arenas, who said he moved the unloaded firearms out of his Virginia home and into his locker to keep them away from his young children, violated this rule the second he walked into Verizon Center with them on his person.
There’s no gray area here. And no need for interpretation. Regardless of his intentions — and regardless of the legal ramifications — Arenas acted foolishly and knowingly broke a league rule. What should come next from NBA commissioner David Stern is a heavy suspension and fine.
The league, however, is waiting for the ongoing investigation to play out. This is a predictable, yet unnecessary, decision. Stern likely will remain in a holding pattern until Arenas’ legal fate is determined, as he did in 2007 with Stephen Jackson, who was suspended for seven games after pleading guilty to a felony count of criminal recklessness for firing a gun outside of a strip club.
