Manhattan Strip Clubs: Sources: NBA could suspend Arenas

The league’s most recent collective bargaining agreement with the players’ union, introduced in the summer of 2005, enacted stricter rules against firearms than the NBA previously enforced, allowing players to own registered weapons but strictly prohibiting gun possession on any team property (arena or practice facility) or at any team function, including promotional appearances.
The three-game suspension of Golden State’s Chris Mills in 2002 for allegedly possessing a gun in a post-game incident involving the Portland Trail Blazers and then-Blazer Bonzi Wells is widely considered the spark for Stern’s determination to push for more rigid anti-gun language in the last labor pact.
No gun-related suspension in the NBA in the 2000s has resulted in a suspension longer than the seven-game ban received by Stephen Jackson in 2007. Jackson pled guilty to one count of felony criminal recklessness after firing five shots into the air in a dispute outside an Indianapolis strip club in 2006 involving then-teammate Jamaal Tinsley, during which Jackson was hit by a car.

Manhattan Strip Clubs: Check Out ‘Bitch Slap,’ ‘Sweetgrass’ And ‘Mine’ In This Week’s unLimited

What it is: A modern, stylish exploitation action movie in the vein of “Grindhouse” and somewhat like “Sin City,” “Bitch Slap” follows three hot women in the desert attempting to extort money from a crime boss. It’s described as both an homage to and parody of cult classics like “Dragstrip Girl,” “Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!” and “Kung Fu Nun” and stars Erin Cummings, Julia Voth, America Olivo and Zoe Bell of Quentin Tarantino’s “Grindhouse” segment “Death Proof.”
Why you should be interested: Fans of Quentin Tarantino’s brand of grindhouse tributes will find some appeal here. Aside from obvious “Death Proof” connections, “Bitch Slap” also features a badass Asian schoolgirl that seems inspired by “Kill Bill.” Also of note are appearances by fantasy TV stars Kevin Sorbo and Lucy Lawless (for whom Bell began as a stunt double back in her “Xena” days). Generally, though, between original exploitation flicks and these modern throwbacks, which in addition to the Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez entries include such films as “Zombie Strippers” and “Black Dynamite,” there must be plenty of fans of this stuff, and you know who you are if you’re one of them.

Manhattan Strip Clubs: NBA must make example out of Arenas

… I mean, look at the situation,” Harris, who doesn’t own a gun, told the
newspaper. “A lot of guys have been robbed. A couple of guys, God rest their
souls, have passed away. I guess they feel like they need some sort of
protection, I don’t know. I can’t speak for everybody. I’d say between 60 and
75 percent (of players own guns).”
Absent of a change in federal law there isn’t much NBA commissioner David
Stern can do as long as his players who do own guns do it in a legal fashion.
Stern did address the issue back in October of 2006 after Stephen Jackson,
then with the Indiana Pacers, shot his gun in the air outside an Indianapolis
strip club. The commish described it as an “alarming subject” and saying “that
although you’ll read players saying how they feel safer with guns, in fact
those guns actually make them less safe.”

Manhattan Strip Clubs: Review: Tyler Perry’s joyful new Madea plays off his house of pain

The tall, 40-year-old, funny and religious Perry – who infuses a strong dose of old-time religion into his narrative – also paused the show to tie back a curtain so the audience on far stage right could see better, picked on cast members for rushing scenes or missing lines, not delivering a line with enough conviction, and, apparently, eating Doritos when off stage.
There were plenty of local references tossed in to suggest that at least someone in Perry’s camp had done their homework prior to his arrival from stage rehearsals in Los Angeles. Perry, er, Madea, who’s never been here before, name dropped local strip club Jaguar’s, joked that a character’s $400 Gucci boots were made in Mexico (as opposed to Italy) and referred to Northeast El Paso when warning a character not to go back to drugs and gangs.

Manhattan Adult Entertainment: Scott Newman and Marc Santo, Revel In NY

S: Ann Liv Young has definitely been one of my favorite subjects thus far. It’s not just because people deem her crazy and provocative but she’s also really brilliant. The shoot was so much fun and she’s really nice and easy to work with. The response all over the world has been great for that video.
Which New Yorkers would you love to profile that you haven’t yet? S: I think one of the cool things about what we are doing is that we look past celebrities to find interesting people around us. Hester Diamond, who’s Mike D of the Beasties Boys mom, said she did the video with us because we gave “dignity” to a foot fetish prostitute. That made me feel really good. That said, I’m not against doing celebrities and I’d really love to do a video on Lou Reed.
