MINEOLA, N.Y. (AP) — A Long Island corrections officer is being accused of extorting sexual favors from female inmates.
Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice says 47-year-old Mark Barber, of Levittown, was arrested Wednesday and charged with multiple counts of rape, sexual abuse, and forcible touching.
Rice says Barber used his position as a grievance officer for the Nassau County Correctional Center to engage in various sexual activity with female inmates.
Rice says Barber, a corrections officer since 1987, would target inmates who had histories of drug abuse, prostitution, or mental health treatment.
Barber’s lawyer, Frederick James Annibale Jr., told reporters that his client denies the charges.
Barber is due back in court Jan. 4. If convicted, he faces up to 16 years in prison.

Moving on, your address. Should you list a PO Box or your house address? Well, it all depends. I would list your house or apartment as an address and not a PO Box if you are stable and not moving from one friends’ house to another. I know sometimes one becomes homeless without a job, and rely on a bevy of friends that want to help. If you need a stable address then pay for a PO Box, and list it on your resume. A house address makes you look more stable, than a PO Box or an apartment address but this brings up other issues.
How? You ask.
Well, I was living at my Mom’s and Dad’s house and had listed their address on my resume. The recruiter wanted to know how I could afford a house payment when she could tell on the resume that I haven’t worked in ages. She asked if I was involved in prostitution or another illegal activity in order to afford this house payment. She …

The officer said the brothel charged £50 for half an hour, £35 of which went to the girl and the rest to the house.

In Carlstadt, however, two public officials found themselves in hot water in 2002 after they faced censuring and one, an indictment, over their use of public funds to hire private investigators in hopes of driving out prostitution in their borough in the late 1990s. Mayor William Roseman was censured by a Bergen County Grand Jury and then councilman Thomas “Buddy” Davis was censured and indicted on one count each for threatening a public official and tampering with a witness. The case surrounded Roseman’s authorization of $7,000 to pay for a private detective agency to investigate Nick’s Oak Room, a gentlemen’s club on Paterson Avenue after he said he had heard of multiple prostitution related incidents taking place there and the inability of the prosecutor’s office to do anything about it. Davis was indicted for allegedly threatening borough CFO Dominick Giancaspro with his job if he did not cut the check and allegedly telling him to lie about it to the grand jury. Both indictments were dropped in April 2004. The outcome o …

What was Bambi’s role in this?
Bambi took me to Coney Island and the Blue Angel because she knew I had done fetish and burlesque numbers in strip joints and fetish clubs, and at the time I had gotten rid of all my old costumes and fans and was taking a break because I didn’t like traveling alone and was only doing the local fetish club gigs. I was so excited – I said, “Oh my god, I do that!!!”
How long did you work in a strip club and while there, what was your favorite band to dance to?
I worked in strip clubs through the ’80s and part of the ’90s, so my musical preferences changed a lot, from punk to hair-band metal to alternative. But everybody loved dancing to Prince and AC/DC.

Meanwhile, there is more fallout from alleged mistress Jamie Jungers’ profanity-laced radio interview Monday. On Tuesday, a Radar Online reporter was interviewed on the same show and said Jungers is lying about not having nude photos of Woods and is lying about her ex-fiancee being the cause of her relationship with Woods being made public. Click here for more details.
In a profanity-laced interview on San Francisco station KNEW and Los Angeles-based KFI radio, Jamie Jungers angrily denied that she has naked photos of Tiger Woods. Details here and listen to interview in audio link here.
The New York Post reports that Woods was a regular at a New York City strip club but always acted like a strip club “virgin,” like he had never been in a strip club before. The Post and the New York Daily News are also reporting that the Stanford alum was surrounded by a group of assistants who covered for him but also tried to warn him of the risks he took with image. Now here’s a great high-concept description of a show: “South Park meets Desperate Housewives.”
class=hardreturn>
One critic characterized “The Great American Trailer Park Musical” in that saucy way, and then the New York Post, after detailing “Trailer Park Musical’s” merry mash-up of adultery, strippers, murderous ex-boyfriends, Costco and the Ice Capades, called it “undeniable fun.”

Theatergoers around here can see exactly what they meant when the show opens at the Spirit of Broadway Theater.

The piece by David Nehls and Betsy Kelso is set, naturally, in a trailer park. This one’s called Armadillo Acres. One of the denizens sees her married upended by the arrival of a stripper on the lam.

Mark Barber, 47, is facing charges he used his power to threaten inmates to comply to his deviant demands by forcing female inmates to have sex with him. The alleged trysts took place in all sorts of private locations he had access to throughout the jail.
District Attorney Kathleen Rice says if an inmate rebuffed Barber’s advances he would threaten to make their lives miserable.
Barber, a veteran corrections officer and one time union head, is accused of using his position as a grievance officer to first shower inmates with jail contraband like cigarettes, candy and phone calls.
“He used his position to seek out vulnerable inmates he could terrorize and sexually assault,” said Rice. “Many of these woman had histories of drug abuse, prostitution and even mental health issues.”
